About this hack:
This hack is an add on for Post Thank You Hack. This hack will block users from viewing or downloading attachments before they thank the post where they want to view or download the attachments.

It's alot easier for a user to click 'thanks' then go to the user attachments. It's also posable for users to remove their thanks after so trying to block up that hole would be a waise of time almost.

hmmm... besides the 'eval' is there any other command simular?

I used prases and not a template.
I used $this->registry->userinfo['userid'] and not $vbulletin->userinfo[userid] (which i dont think works there).
I used !can_moderate($forumid) and not wht you use for finding a moderator.

I am using both atm, the "cantseeattch before replying" is working ok, but as i said in your other thread Abe1 the standard users can still see the attachment without the thanks being clicked!

This hack is really not that sophisticated. I don’t really want to start added these extra features.

It does not block admins. Try looking as a regular user.

Can you make this so that admin can add a particular usergroup to exclude from having to click thank you? I have some paying member that I don't want to do anything to download the attachments.

But still want the none paying members to have to click the thank you button.

The new update is only for PM Attachments conflict. So, checking the script <> private is the best surely.

I have had this working perfectly but have now installed GARS and i need to apply the template editd to some of the GARS templates....

Can you assist please as i have this turned off atm and its a shame as i love this hack :)

EIDT: I have fixed this now...I had to insert some of yout postbit code into
the GARS_pb and GARS_comment templates....

If you have 1800 people download a file and they all have to thank it, does that mean there are going to be 1800 thanks down the page o_O


Or does it do something with those thanks? like put them in a scrolling box or something, and wouldnt this slow down the page load heaps having to call on all 1800 thanks?

First, you are reporting this in the wrong thread. It belongs in the Post Thank You Hack thread.

Second, I believe it was fixed a few versions ago. What version do you have installed now?

I had to say thanks to be able to download the attachment......

I removed the thanks cause the attachment was not appropriate and i got that error!!

This gave me the oppertunity to be able to install the ajax version

We use this hack for the attachments and when click thanks the button
dissapears as it should but we still have to refresh the page anyway to
see the attachment....any ideas plase?

in forumdisplay you see on the right side a paperclip-symbol to show the users a attachment is in the thread. but any user can click on it and download the attachment without thanking to the post...
