Regardless, if you didn't want all the other features, you could just use this.

I would love to see a maximum characters option.

another thing that may be useful is maximum qhantity of lines or carriage returns in signature. I had a couple trolls who made their signature as follows and it screwed up the look of our boards:

Developer, you can make the mod hack limit a number row in Signature. Because my board have a lots member used photo with big height size make the sigs in the post very long. I want limit my board's member much use photo in sigs with the height size in "x" rows, if exceed "x" rows I limited their sigs see a notice to much resize photo for appropriate the hack and their photo don't see until their complete to rezize photo (with software acdsee, photoshop, ect...) and re-post their photo into sigs.
