Installation

Installation in two easy steps:

1. Upload all the files from the "files" directory in this zip into your forums directory.

2. Import product-color_groups.xml as a product. (Via "Plugin System" > "Manage Products" > "Add/Import Product" in your Admin CP.)

Upload

admincolor.php == forum/admincp/admincolor.php
cpnav_color.xml == forum/includes/xml/cpnav_color.xml

i am using amykhar one and ordering it by edit usergroup name
eg:
1-Adminstrators 2-Moderators ....

i love the hack its easy to use... but one thing i never realized is why people dont place like a html chart below this way its easier to find colors

And i only just installed another one recently.....this one looks so much easier lol

however I have it set up so when a user clicks on admin or smod etc it goes to view forum leaders page. (very handy so the user knows who all the admins and smods, mods etc are.) Could you include that as well, then I'll install this one.

sorry for the not very smart commet that i'm about to say:

this would only add a legend to the forumhome.. right.. i still have to change the colors of the user group from usergroup manger>>edit user group>>Username HTML Markup

coz if i don't do that.. no change would happen to the user group....

or am i doing something wrong here..?

no you don't, you must be referring to someone else's hack. Amy's hack doesn't involve template edits to change a usergroups color.

but... I can't get it to work. I uploaded it fine, can create group colors, it shows up on the forum home page with groups listed, but the names don't change color.

What am I missing?

Yep same problem here I can get the admin functions to work. The legend is displayed on the forum home page in the right colors but none of the user names have the colors applied. Maybe its a problem with this edition (Latest release came out yesterday and it seems everyone installing today has this problem).

i use vpplaza and a lot of the members like to customize their usernames different colors and what not.

Is there any way to make this affect only the names as shown on the "who is on-line page and in the "What's Going On? Currently Active Users:" section on the index page?

if it changes the way their names appear in the post bits and in the profiles it counter acts their VBPlaza purchases.

as mentioned before, if members go and cahnge the colours in the usergroup options, its surely gonna mess up anyones chioces they have purcahsed if they have used the vb plaza??

mebbe it should be mentioned then that any boards using vbplaza might not benefit from this.....

Besides, I see no reason why you can't use usergroupcache to derive the list of color usergroups.

I would like to move the legend to the bottom of my WOL listing window instead of above the member names. something like this

I've installed it and works great. Something to mention to those having troubles with the colors.
Code your colors like this:
For Blue you can use either the word Blue, or the hex 0000FF.

Normally you would use the # in front of the hex, but not with this mod.

I've installed it, working fine other than a comma placed above the names of the colored groups. This spot is reserved for "Users awaiting Email Confermation" But the comma is stuck in there too. I'm guessing it's an extra in the code some where, but I'm afraid to delete the wrong one (no gutz)

Doesn't work for 3.6.2, all the options are the and you can set the colours for the usergroups but the ID's don't change

Hi all, I have installed this everything working great the only problem I have is that I had to go to

to get to the hack to add the usergroups in, is this supposed to show up in the vbulletin options section or in the main admincp? I did look in both places but found nothing
