View Full Version : Thread Started By Date & Username
By default, on a forumdisplay page, in the threads list, under the thread name you have the name of the member who started the thread. Check out the screenshot; it probably explains it better than words.
This hack modifies that second line so it indicates when the thread was started, in addition to the name of the member who started it.

April 3, 2006: This hack has been updated to ver. 1.1.0 to include the same "thread started by" info on search results pages, too. To upgrade from 1.0.0, simply download the new ZIP file and import the product file, overwriting the existing one. There are no new template changes.
How can you make this appear on the search results? (ie. Get New Posts or Get Daily Posts)
I'll take a look at that and post an update as soon as possible. :)
Good stuff, but when using with the functinality of "new postings" the name of the posters are not longer available!?
By taking care of this request...

I have to have Datestamp Display Option set to Detailed otherwise when set to Yesterday / Today setting it just says Yesterday.
I use European time format if that's any help.

very nice thanks
This is nice ... but of course someone always wants more - is it possible to tweak this to display the date the thread was started or ideally something like "Started: today/yesterday/12/12/06 by Member"?

Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to share a working hack.
Happy Holidays!

One of my members found a bug regarding using this addon with moved threads:
If you move a thread, the date at its original location gets changed to "Started today", while the date at its new location is correct.
Any way to fix this? Thanks in advance.
