Hi Spleasure,
Do you plan releasing this for 3.7?
Regards Jason :)
This works for Beta 5, as you just stated...
Yes, I know. But I don't want to keep an hack that isn't going to be supported for future versions.
Regards Jason :)

Hey,
I installed this mod on vb 3.7.0 B5 and it worked great at first but when I checked back recently, it stopped working. I checked all my settings and they are intact. When I viewed the page in IE I got the same error.
Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------
Any help?
You mustn't be installing it right. I suggest you go through the install instructions again, overwriting any files on your web server already, as well as overwriting the product.

Has anyone had issues with this MOD when upgrading to vB 3.7?
No, I'm running this with BETA 5 -- works great!
Regards Jason :)
I found the problem!
The file "ncode_imageresizer.js" in the clientscript directory had disappeared?
It's was there before I upgraded to BETA 5
Oh well it's all working fine again now.

Well when I installed it, it was after I install 3.7.0 B5...nonetheless I did a rewrite and it worked again.
What amazes me is when I originally installed it, it worked and then suddenly stopped. Anyway it's fine now. Thanks for the help.
Mind sharing on what you did Bradley?

So it has been confirmed that this mod does in fact work with 3.7??
So it has been confirmed that this mod does in fact work with 3.7??
I'm using it on 3.7 beta 5 without a problem.
Are there any plans to work highslide into this hack?
But this hack is only working when a user posts an image with the [ IMG ] bbcode correct ? It does not work when a user uploads an JPG / GIF as attachment, correct ?
Why should it work with attachments? Attachments open up within a litebox for 3.7
I may try to keep this going. I will keep it going for my site, but it all depends on whether I get time to post it all here.

Hmmm mine is only showing 'Click This Bar To View Full Image" why is it not showing the sizing information?
Thanks!
Go through the instructions again and make sure you did everything correctly. Chances are, you missed something ;)

Upload .js file and import product??
Hi,
can I use this modification in localhost?
I try to install in localhost, but have this error message:
Warning: javascript file not found
You have to upload the Javascript file ncode_imageresizer.js to the clientscript folder manually.
And I moved the "ncode_imageresizer.js" to clientscript folder.
Sorry for my bad english.
Thanks.
Upload to /clientscript and re-import the product. It should work.

Check to see what options you have enabled:
ACP --> vBulletin Options --> nCode Image Resizer options
I cannot see how it's happening if you have installed it correctly, since I'm running it on BETA 6 with no problems whatsoever.
Regards Jason :)

16 Mar 2008, 22:58
There are no options that would be responsible for displaying the size information.
Not sure what is going on...like I said, tried it even with a fresh installation of vbulletin.
Well, I don't know then. You must be going wrong, since I'm running it completely fine. Do you have any other hacks/mods that may be conflicting with it?
Regards Jason :)

Not sure, like I said, I even tried it on a fresh installation of Beta 6. Wonder if there could be any server side settings that could affect this?
Hmm...I shouldn't think so. Would you like me to take a look?
If Spleasure gives me the go ahead, then I'll take over this hack...but he doesn't seem to be responding.

This is a nice mod: Thank you I have installed it, Is it possible to have a size for the forum and a different one for the blog, as we know the blog has a smaller viewing area due to the sidebar.
This hack was made for vBulletin and not blogs, or other programs ;)
Regards Jason :)
Anyone know if upgrade from 3.6.8 PL2 to 3.7 RC1 if this plug in will still work?
Yes, I am using it with 3.7 RC1 ;)

How to change this plugin to work with album images?
I am also interested in an answer to this question.
I've got this mod installed on 3.7 beta 5, but I'd also like it if it worked in the albums sections. Any easy way to get this done? Are there plans of offering it in an update?

Hello - is it at all possible to setup this theme so that it's installed to specified themes and not ALL themes?
I have some themes that are 100% browser width where image resizing isn't necessary and some that are a set width (1024px) where image resizing is necessary. How do I choose which themes to have this installed to?

Really good hack. Thanks for sharing.
I only did a couple of changes, I post them here for your consideration (I TESTED THE 3.5 version it seems)
The preg_replace code, even if non-expensive, is executed each time a post is parsed, and doesn't use the already in place post cache, you can verify it by querying the postparsed table, the <img> code is left there unreplaced.
Instead, I REMOVED the postbit_complete plugin, and replaced it for a
bbcode_parse_complete plugin with the following content:
Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------
With that, the postbit is just parsed once, and subsequent views of the thread/postbit don't call the preg_replace at all. You can check the "postparsed" table and the new <img> info would be there. Since I run a medium-big forum, every bit of optimisation counts :)
And... I'm contributing a spanish translation :)
fixed my problem, human error on my behalf

I have this hack as well and it does not work for the albums. That would really bring this mod up to date with the new vB version.
Because it was not made for the albums ;)
However, I may work on an updated release.
Been in touch with Spleasure, and he has given me permission to release an updated version, then take future requests.
nightbloom,
Why would you want this for the albums? You can set the max size for albums in ACP.
As Spleasure has given me permission of the code, I will release it for 3.7, then fix any bugs, and add any features.

Finally a good script! Work well on 3.7 RC1
Just going to release this for 3.7 -- has Spleasure has given me the rights to the code. I will then take future requests, and fix any bugs that may pop up. :)

No, that is currently not an option. Sorry.

06 May 2008, 02:47
Alright then - since you're doing updates, COULD you add this feature? Some forums have different styles that are full-screen and some on a fixed width and the ability to choose which forum to do the image resizing on would be really handy.

Great Addon !! I love it .
Just a question, where can i change the sentence

I would like to translate it to german for my users.
Thx in advance :)

If this is my site "http://www.mysite.com" will this work on images from "http://www.yoursite.com/logo.jpg"?
That's how all my images are now and I'm wondering if there is a way for this to work on outside image sources.
Thanks.

Does this work with 3.8.1?
whitesoxfan5622
03 Apr 2009, 02:22
I have it running with 3.8.1
Only problem is the bar says
"This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized %1%2."
It uses %1%2, if anyone know how to just remove that part, let me know!
After I tried to unsintall this I am not more able to change any of my templates.
After pressing save the error comes
It comes Fatal error: Call to undefined method vb_activecache::flush() in ...includes/adminfunctions_template.php(2359) : eval()'d code on line 6
Any idea.

when posting a large image, is it normal for the image to load at its original dimensions and then be resized into the resize box?

No, it doesn't. Later this year I will upgrade the board I manage to vB4 and maybe I will update the Image Resizer. However, it has been a long time since the last update and I think others have created working Image Resizers already. I suggest you look elsewhere on this forum to find other solutions. I'm interested to hear if you have found anything.
