my site was down for 2 hours yesterday. Not the server and their were no errors in the CP either.
It wouldn't come up at all and I couldn't get into the admin cp either.
The last visitor was a yahoo slurp spider. Could this do it? My host is putting an alert on it if it happens again they will track it. Site is fine now though
No, a spider would not cause that.
it could have been a break in the link from one router to another which meant while the site was actually up - the routers just couldnt find the correct path to it.
Usually routers update the destination tables every 15 mins - so if the link is gone , it can take up to two hours to either find another path , or for the link to be repaired and recognised.

You talking about cisco inside network routers? Real routers (ISP's) keep routing tables for up to 3 days
