VBSilver (SubSilver clone) for vBulletin
After request and have the permission given from phpBB's styles team (and the copyright checked), i leave with you:
VBSilver, a clone of SubSilver of phpBB.
That's it. Simply a clone of a loved (for many people) theme for your forum.
This was more like a challenge, by the way (and donated in private first to that community).
Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional

You can play a prank on people on April 1st saying that you've switched to phpBB.

Just wondering, it still shows my background, which is dark blue .. how come ?!?
Ha ha, nice one. This takes me back to the dreaded days of using phpBB. :p

Are you sure you are able to use the phpBB images? AFAIK they are under a differnt license than the phpBB coding.

Yep. I've contacted the leader of the "styles team" (Erisar at phpbb.com) before release this style in public.
This is part of the PM conversation with him:
Generally the copyright should look something like this:
<<Quote:
Powered by vBulletin Version 3.5.4
Copyright (c) 2000-2006, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
VBSilver style released under GPL by TC
Port of subSilver released by and copyright of phpBB>>
"GPL" should link to a copy of the GPL, and "phpBB" and "subSilver" should link to phpBB.com.
And... i think is all right with that :paranoid:

Don't think its possible to have a GPL product with a paid one though.

But the GLP is only for the template/style, what is free... not for the "product" himself (that we know is paid).

Well this be updated after the 3.6 is out for good, no more rcs? I'm looking to get it, but only have 3.54 for now and don't want anything messed up. Just wondering. Also, nice theme, just recently bought vb and everyone at my site complain about the layout of vb and all, maybe by installing this, it will trick them and they won't complain. ;)

When vb3.6 comes gold, i will update this Style. Don't worry ;)
More than likely there won't be any issues with it. I'm still using a 3.0 style on my board with 3.5.4 and have no doubt it will work with 3.6 :) - harmor19 should be able to say if it works or not as the postbit suggests that the user is using {a} 3.6 {variant}.

I will have to use this for april fools day, well what the heck I have a few members that would like this. Especially as the main style we use now has not been ported so we have no Multi Quote Image

Nice. Though i gotta say its not as accurate.
Here is my port of the theme http://forums.alliedmods.net
It looks a little more phpBB'ish then yours. But still good job, as much as i dont like phpBB i think the theme is pretty nice.

Can i use this with vb 3.6.0 gold?
Jonathan Young
06 Sep 2006, 02:03
Yes, you can it may have some things missing or some bugs though. There were many changes since rc1 to gold, not many but mostly bug fixes and if this template needs any i don't know.

I could use this template if it the colours or fonts were exactly the same with subsilver. I love subsilver. But this one is ugly. I don't think this is a clone.
