Please refer to the notes ;

I have no connection with the Flashchat (http://www.tufat.com/s_flash_chat_chatroom.htm) product - if you have questions about Flashchat functionality then their forums are located here (http://www.tufat.com/phpBB2/index.php).

This integration isn't showing up on my new skin that I installed. Can you tell me how I can manually edit my html in order to get this to display in my Who' Online area? I'm currently running vb3.6.7.

Hoping someone here may have a quick answer.

I am seeing the following in my error logs:

[Tue Jul 24 15:05:02 2007] [error] [client 66.135.44.164] File does not
exist: /my/path/to/inc/cmses/aedatingCMS.php

Is this an old version hack attempt or something? My only file in there is the vBulletin CMS that comes with the package.

Yes, it's probably someone trying to exploit a security hole that was present in the aedatingCMS.php file (about a year ago).

I import the product via ACP, but nothing appears on the forum home page. Integration with Flashchat installed and works fine. But I guess this mod for some reason can''t alter my FORUMHOME template. Is there any way to insert this section into the FORUMHOME manually? Thank you in advance.

Same here. I am on the second version of vb 3.6.8 and use version 4.4.2. I noted that in the Installed Products list, it lists that I have installed 4.4.2, but that 4.4.1 is the latest version.
Please advise.

@Transverse_styles: nice skins BTW.

I have a question about this. It reports a using is in the chatroom when they left a long time ago. Does the mod go by the flashchat timeout settings or vbulletin timeout settings?

I have the flashchat timeout settings to 3mins, but vbulletin time out settings in 15mins. So if a member goes to the chatroom and closes the window is it going to wait for 15min to say they left the chatroom. If the member is still active on the site but not the chatroom it still says they are in the chatroom.

cheers, great mod. I have a request, is it possible to also use one query to like show a number of who's online next to the "chat" link?

Hence, add some small php/mysql query in one of the templates (nav)..... If that's possible... what is it :)

I have been running this for a while and it has been flawless. Thank you Paul! Excellent work.

Praise of course leads to a question of sorts. Any thoughts on adding a online now icon that will show up on the users postbit profile. Maybe working with AJAX to show logged into chat or not etc. I just thought of this today when a member asked, so I haven't gotten very far with it, but will sculpt the idea when I have time.

Example below. Shows colored icon when in chat and greyed out icon when out. Chat status so to speak :)

Before this last update, I could show the total number of users in chat on all pages of the site using the variable $totalchatters in the navbar. Now, it only shows on the index page. I thought it had something to do with global_start, but I see that this uses that already.

Any ideas?

Hi guys

I'm having a problem where users are automaically logged out of the chat room after a certain amount of time. Is there anyway to stop inactive chatters auto logging out of the chat room?

Is it a flashchat or vbulletin setting?

Please consider writing a "display 'friends in flashchat' in navbar" add-on for vb 3.7. (below 'your notifications')
I am sure that this would intensify the use of flashchat on any site and enhance integration.

Just to make sure, I can change the phrases at

Hi Paul,

First .. thanks for the prompt response .. you'll have to bear with me I'm a newbie at all of this.

I have the latest version of flashchat installed ver 4.8.3 and I'm using VB 3.6.8

I did install your mod for incorporating FC into VB and that is working great.

How and where do I find how to set the option telling VB where your mod is ??? Is this during the import of the mode or somewhere in the mod itself ??

Thanks for your patience

Please read post #324, it tells you where the options are located - "Location of FlashChat Folder" is the one you want.

Great mod... it really helped me get a vBa module setup as well :)

For those of you using vBa and not able to get a module/block working...

Make sure you go to vBadvanced CMPS Options -> Main Options -> Portal Output Global Variables... Add totalchatters and chatters. I have chatmax as well but I modified the plugin so chatters only displays the names instead of both the names and the record # of chatters.

If anyone might know how to remove the color from $chatters it would be very helpful. I did this with my onlineusers.php some time ago but I don't think this method applies to the who is chatting mod. If I find out how I'll post it up in case someone else may find it useful.

The 3.8 version of this mod installs fine but this 3.6x version is getting failed to open stream errors with Flashchat 5.0.10 even though the file listed in the error exists.

(/chat/inc/config.php on line 5 and 11) ~ Flashchat 5.0.10 is working on 3.6.8 BTW...

Any idea what's going on here?

I installed a older version of Flashchat (4.7.8) and that fixed the problem. Mod's working fine.
Also worth mentioning, the older version of Flashchat appears to work much better. The new version (5.0.10) is extremely buggy.

I cannot see a screenshot, but what you describe normally means the phrase has been customised in the past, you need to revert it (drop the custom version).
