The 3.6.8 upload instructions make no sense for 3.6.9 because all the template edits are already done. There are no template edits to do, but the system still doesn't work.


You're right, the template edits are already done, but apparently they're not necessary, as this hack does work (see attachment) in 6.9.


I'm still trying to figure out how to show the "user was thanked X times" in the post profile, it shows up the in user profile just fine.

There is a style error in this mod.
When the Post Thank You Hack plugin is enabled at postbit_display_complete, Firefox reports the error:
Error in parsing value for property 'display'. Declaration dropped.

i don't have it install but did you try looking for the PHRASE itself? that way whatever upgrade you do won't undone it just go to language and phrases and search for something like : the following user and see if you can find it?

When I was needed post thank you that integrated with HIDE hack this hack does not support that. So I ordered VS-Hide hack resurection (Expanded) .
after that our domain has filtered in our country and we registered some new domains and used "Parked Domains" but vs-hide hack not worked on new domains and we tried to ask supporters to make a key file to use with some other domains (But on one site).
They supporters did not answer me from months ago !!!!
Now I saw new version of your hack support all of our need but the problem is calculated reputations and count on thanks !
I mean if I install your hack can I import all thanks count and reputation level that calculated with thanks and other informations from vs-hide hack?

I believe the issue is because you have customized templates and the mod was not able to rewrite them. I had the same issue with my username request mod. But after reverting those customized templates and reinstalling the mod, it worked just fine.

Perhaps there was a change in table? Anyways, I had to revert it back to 6.3 to keep it running. I would choose to not uninstall and install again because that removes all my member's thanks and I'm sure they'd be really mad if I did that.

I sure did. That's why I wasn't able to figure out what the issue was with it. I do however have a suspicion that there's a duplicate table or entry for thanks received on my forum. Otherwise, it wouldn't have not increases when someone gives thanks. I'll have to compares the tables sometime when I have the time. But even so, it shouldn't have not update the admincp functions, and that's what really puzzles me. Thanks for your attention.

Is there anyway to disable the "post" that is made in the thread "The following user(s) say thank you to so-and-so for this useful post" which displays the names of the users that clicked "thanks"?

We have installed the hack and it works great, we would just like to keep a total of how many times a user was thanked rather than display who thanked who in order to avoid some childishness that may come as a result (why didn't so and so thank me?).

Any option to turn the "thanks post" on or off would be great, maybe at the user level so mods and admins could see it but not registered users?

Only one thing, sometimes there's an error: Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /includes/functions_post_thanks.php on line 183 and the thanks are not shown below the posts, seems to be only occur if a thread has more pages.

Has ANYONE fixed this problem? When you view a GARS article with multiple pages of replies it adds the template for the article 'preview' at the top of the threadbit that has a summary of the article and then a link to the first page.

HOWEVER, you get an error and the thankyou's don't show up. However, it works fine on the first page, just not on subsequent pages.

You can edit it in your vbulletin adminCP but the way i do it is this way:

Load up the XML in an editor program like Dreamweaver and search for <strong> & </strong> and remove them from the code. Save and reinstall the XML document.

I have found two instances of this:

Great hack. I have a question. How hard do you think it would be to force people to click "thanks" before they could download an attachment file from that particular thread. OK, I found this solution. If the user is a member of the X usergroup then show the code.

Im using Vbulletin 3.7.0 and Thanks Hack.

Long time ago, in order to download attachments in my community, users must have at least one reply to a thread and i created a "introduce yourself to the community" thread where new users may be able to have their first post and download all my content.

About a month ago, i have no restriction to download files, any user (registered or not) is able to download, but i kept the introduce thread, every time a new user is registered, a private message is sent to their inbox and users are asked to read the rules and to make their first post in the introduce thread.

I also close threads when they reach 3,500 replies and open a new one, in the case of the introduce yourselve thread i have 4 threads.

Today i noticed that on one of my closed introduce yourself to the community thread, four users are having a lot of thanks which is strange because

1- The thanks are on a closed thread which is only visible on the fourth or fifth page of the forumdisplay
2- Those posts should not recive a thank because they are useless posts
3- The users are reciving up to three or four thanks of the same day by the same user

I have the Thanked product , and i would like to make it looks like the picture below
According to each usergroup , then colour must me shown, when they thank.

Does any ones kons how to do this please

We just re-installed our thanks (because AJAX isn't working) and a couple of issues:

1) AJAX isn't working for it. The page refreshes
2) Thanks are no longer showing up in the user cp history

Any help with either?

My forum has some posts with 250 or more Thanks, which takes up a lot of space.
How can I add a button to Hide/ Show the Thanks and at the same time, keep the total number of Thanks displayed?
I have tried to add a button in the "thanks_postbit" template, but I have not been successful.

I am having a problem installing this MOD. I thought I uploaded all of the files, but it's saying I did not. I'm guessing it's because I'm not sure how to implement this part of the instruction "and into EVERY "buttons" folder in every style you have." I don't know where the styles are stored in the file structure. I looked for something obvious, but didn't see it. Can you tell me where to find the buttons folder for a style?

Hi,thanks for the hack..i have a small issue..i run vB 3.6.4..please have a look at the image below

the thanks numbers are being displayed correctly in the usercp...but the numbers are not being displayed in "postbit" and "memberinfo"

and for some members its getting stuck at 1,even though they have received hundreds of "thanks" in more than a single thread.

And it is slowing the forum down incredibly bad. I have it uninstalled right now, but sometimes I get this error when it's installed:

I upgraded to a new server, I disabled plugins system in config.php before backing up and transferring files to new server. Now everything works but when thanks is clicked, there's a 500 internal server error... any help?

On my large forum I can't uninstall this hack. When I click the uninstall button it just stalls. Is there anyway to manually uninstall this if the admin panel option isn't working?



edit: apparently it worked. Crashed my MySQL server but when I checked afterwards this hack was gone.

Great work first of all. I only have one question, when we have multiple users who thank the same author I need to have a comma btwn user id's. Right now it is like this user1 user 2 etc and we need it to be like user1, user2 etc...

How where do I add the . "," to make it join the user id's with a comma(space)?

I'm about to update my vBulletin version from 3.8.2 to 4.x - if I install the latest thank you hack 7.4. is it going to work on the new vBulletin version 4.x as well, or do I have to use a different version for 4.x?
