I'm having a problem of my own....

I'm trying to use this as a means for my members to display their webcomics and I want the images in the film strip to appear in the order they were uploaded. (In actuality, I'd like the filmstrip to be on the profile page, but beggars can't be choosy.) In the film strip when I click on the first image uploaded, the rest are navigated to with the left arrow, but it should be the right arrow. Anyone know how I can fix this? (Example in the attachment here (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=81592&d=1212288522).)

You problem is happening because you need to set the correct Paths in your setting ..
for the paths don't include the domain name as it won't be able to read the files as system files.

98% of the errors is because of setting the wrong path.

Make "image upload" status screen capitalized first letters so it looks more professional, i.e. "Image uploaded."
Fix spelling errors found without the script, make better, this is a great plugin, it could be so much better, I'd even pay for this if the price was right

You can change this on your own.
Go in admincp-> search in phrases an search for these phrases you want to change

from the vbimghost_displayimg template and adding it to the MEMBERINFO template that had to do with the film strip.

I've gotten close (sort of) I think.

I've changed it so my $vbimghost[last5] only shows 1 instead of 5 and left it active while trying to test these extra changes. It is the top image that for some reason becomes a thumbnail upon making these changes.

Aside from that (which I assume I can take care of by just removing it from the template if I ever get this working the way I want to), the new image appears (which is good) and the filmstrip text and filmstrip table appears (which is also good), but the actual filmstrip won't show up for some reason. I've attached a screenie in case I didn't convey exactly what my member profiles look like. Can you point me in the right direction please?

Installed and testing, so far I everything working correctly. It works great. If you use 00's in any of the settings you will get a 'warning division by zeros' error, so I fixed that by using whole numbers such as 648 width instead of 650.

I do have one question though. Since my site images are protected by htaccess and they cannot be posted outside my site AND no HTML is allowed on my site, which templates to I modify to erase the line that gives the HTML tags option for linking.

I just want to leave the BB tags in tact.

Since a while some of the images that the users of my forum and I upload, and that originally shown great, with any troubles, it's been disappear. The images can't be accessed from the url (http://mypage.whatever.com/vbimagehosting/someimage.jpg), however they remains in the server (and can be download and perfectly seen from my FTP). When I see throught the Admin CP, it's shown the information, like in any other normal image (name, size, BB Code... those things), but not the image, only a blank space.
As I said, it's occurs with past well accessed and showed images, but also with some new uploaded images. (Some, not all of them). Also, if the new uploaded image not shown at firsts, it will not be shown on next uploads (for example, if I upload someimage.jpg and it's not showing, if I upload it again and again, the result will be the same).
And also, when I paste the url directly on my ¿direction bar? (sorry, I'm not english spoken), it's redirects me to an vBulletin error page (something like "The specified forum isn't valid"). Since here, it's appear to asume that the root of my forum page is http://mypage.whatever.com/vbimagehosting/ instead of http://mypage.whatever.com/ (its means that if I click the banner to go to my index page, it takes me to http://mypage.whatever.com/vbimagehosting/index.php, that obviously doesn't exist).
I'm not sure, but is probably that it's only happen since I updated to vB 6.7; I'm using the script for months and not getting any trouble.
I hope someone can help me.

So, I created a virtual directory called imagehosting to that drive so that it looks like it is on the root of my forums. Is there any reason this will not work?

When I upload the image, it is not giving me an error, but it is not uploading the image to the imagehosting directory. However, it will show me the links, etc. for the image, even though the image does not show. If I name an image with the name in the link and put it in the imagehosting directory, the image will display. So, apparently, the problem is in uploading the image to the directory.

Edit each usergroup you wish to use this mod, by going to your admincp/usergroups,
select the usergroup you want. You will see vbimage hosting permissions if you scroll down.

I've transfered my server to another host and everything is working good, but getting a blank page when i click on "VB image host options" link in admincp:

Ranma2k, this has to be perhaps one of my all-time favourite modifications. Thanks for making it available and all your hard work on it. It is an invaluable tool.

However, using vB 3.73 and the style Kirsch, I have noticed that your modification causes error for many of my users. I have isolated this error to this mod only. As someone above posted, the error message is:

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

If you could shed some light on how to fix this, or even update the mod in line with the latest version of vB, I would be very grateful. It is a shame that I have to disable this mod, because as I mentioned, it is essential to my forums! Have a great day and thanks nonetheless.

I have updated this for 3.7.x. I was listed as a co-author on the 3.5 version since I gave Ranma2k the Watermark code.

Either way Ranma2k can make the new mod thread for this when he gets around to it. I believe I fixed all the issues that have been mentioned in regards to 3.7, but I am running this on 3.7.4PL1 so that is the only 3.7 version it was tested on. I will watch the thread if there are further issues. Thanks

I can't test Release Candidates. Actually all I really did was update the security_token issue and one other thing so I guess it would work with 3.8...

I notice that to uninstall this, one of the points says:

"you'll have to manualy delete the table vbimghost from the database."

I don't have access to SQL to do this, so the question is, if I did all of the rest of the uninstall instrucitons and just left this table, will it cause me problems?

Just reinstalled this (removed the old version first), but now my last5 don't show up in my user profiles. Anyone have any ideas?

I guess I should give you a bit more to go on...

I had this installed before (not sure what version). I hacked it to make it work for webcomics. I ended up not liking it for webcomics so I tried to overwrite the hacked version with this. That worked fine and dandy until some old images that weren't turned into thumbs for some reason was stretching user profiles in the last 5.

I removed the hack entirely from my site (including all the folders and dropping the vbimagehost table from the db - I kept the template edits and phrase changes I made). Then I reinstalled this latest version, uploaded three images under my account, but the latest uploaded images aren't showing up in my user profile. Instead only the "No image hosted" appears. It's as if the IF statement isn't coming true, but I don't know why it all of a sudden the IF statement won't come true. I'd appreciate any help or ideas anyone might have.

I moved servers yesterday and I had to turn off image host so people wouldn't upload more images and the images end up not showing up. But now on the new server in the image host options, it's just blank - i am still able to see members images along with rebuilding thumbnails, but I can't see the regular menu options

Bro, that problem is.. many user uploaded there images with vBimagehoster in my forum on 3.5,3.6,3.7 and my user use this imagehoster-plugin its simple and nice.. with direct url etc.

I really can't see how this could be done with unregistered users because the database stores images by username.

I went to your board, guest can't see anything at all, but your header & header navbar.

Since your navbar is in your header template, do the edits to header template, not your navbar template.

I have VBimage host 1.4.1 installed on vbulletin 3.4.3. There is no problem running vbimagehost in forums, user can upload images, everything is working.
But in Vbulletin control panel View member images is not working. I get 404 page not found error.

This is an excellent and useful mod. My kudos for your efforts.

If possible, I would love to see an addition whereby every IMG being linked to within a post were to automatically be imported into and hosted by the imagehost database.

As an example, I post news stories which I find, and add in the stories' images when present. Many news servers will eventually move or trash their stories which breaks the image links within my posts. To prevent that from happening I would need to first download the image to my PC, import it into the imagehost mod, mark it as public, and then copy the IMG BBcode for inclusion into my post. Ideally, there'd be a process which parses a new post for any non-forum-server IMG tag, auto-import it, auto-mark as public, and then auto-substitute for the new image's hosted URL. Perhaps it would be a new BBcode for auto-importing and hosting of non-forum-server images.

Would such an expansion of auto-hosting be feasible?

I updated to this version of the module at the same time as I added a new template/skin to my forum. I'm having some trouble actually finding the text in navbar (for example) in this new skin to be able to have the mod show in the navigation bar. My new skin has a file called ch_nav that contains this text "<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="faq.php$session[sessionurl_q]" accesskey="5">$vbphrase[faq]</a></td>" and the text "<!-- PAGENAV POPUP -->" is actually nowhere to be found.

Has anyone else run into this?

Hi Nikolas, Im currently using vb 3.8.4 PL2 and this mod works ok for me, I will be doing the upgrade to vb4 within the next few days as soon as i get the time to sort it out and im gutted this addon won't work and it looks like it wont be ported at all..

have you rechecked the settings?
