You have "pay post awards from the central account" set to yes in your specialty settings. You cant set loan repayment date exactly, but its when the interval occurs for interest.

There is no integration addon for that available. I intend to build download support for credits into my vBLimiter script.

If the posts are deleted or otherwise removed from view, they will have their credits negated. to turn this off, set your negation multiplier to 0. in 1.4 final, there are a set of switches to apply the negation award to, so you can turn this off directly instead of all or none at once

Is there a way to stop credit earning in say like the "off topic" forums?

In 1.3, you can specify no credits in no post count forums. in 1.4, there is a switch in each forum to specify credit earning there or not.

yes, I have done it and it started from 0, but wierdly for some users it still works strangely. One user has 600+ credits with in 7 days and he has not even posted 100 posts :(

did the first drawing end yet? The active tickets limit for usergroup counts ALL tickets that are in drawings that havent ended yet. either that or the drawing has reached the maximum that you set, or they dont have enough money.

make sure your regular member group has a nonzero limit for donations. if its a specific person, make sure they had the amount of credits they wanted to donate. if you have an additive donation fee in effect, they might not realize the combined donation+fee still exceeds their account

try looking in your header template instead, or search for specific variables or phrases (sometimes the find code gets altered from the vbulletin default)

If vBCredits is used on a forum that has some monetary value attached to the credits, where in the admin section does the reserve for unredeemed credits for accounting purposes appear?

For example, a member has 10,000 points which has a monetary value of $10.00. The forum has a minimum monetary price of $15.00 which is for a vBulletin.com T-shirt. Later on that member might decide to cash out his/her credits that she/he has earned.

For accounting purposes you have to set aside reserves equal to the dollar value of unredeemed credits.

I took a peak at vBCredits but didn't see how or where the dollar value of unredeemed credits using vBCredits is displayed.

currently, users will LOSE credits for inactivity, to the tune of (negation multiplier) * (activity award). as i understand this is kinda undesirable for some people, there is a switch in 1.4 final to turn off the negation action on specific actions, such as inactivity or induction (another one people have disliked)

credits essentially come out of thin air, not from a specified reservoir. if you choose to attach value to credits, it is up to you to maintain such a reservoir, and make sure nobody exceeds it. maybe something like this will be in the next major release of vbcredits (the one after 1.4 final)

if you are using 1.3, youll have to edit the plugin, and it gets kinda messy...
if you are using 1.4x, just edit the lines that you inserted into the templates

1.4 final is getting there, for those wanting it now, please note that we want to make sure there are no major bugs that could break your site or be exploitible by your users. There is a ton of math that goes into make this system work, and dark's been slaving on it. And making progress...

Put '0' for your Award Negation multiplier in your award settings. The only way to restore to normal is to award your members who have negative credit...this should solve your problem for the future!:)

I had this tagged for sometime and now installed on vB 3.7 beta 5.
But I also have Icash installed which I want to remove really. So first I need to convert, but when trying to import the convert product I get this error:
The product Icash must be installed before this product may be installed. (Compatible starting with 1.0.2)
I got version 2.03 of Icash installed. Why do I get the notice then?

The second question is:
Do I need to change something in Icash settings?
At this moment my "Name of Points" is "euro" and "Money row" is "money".
Is this oke or do I need to change things?

Will this addon be updated in the near future? Compared to Icash, which uses simply a ibpro arcade hook, it's much, much easyer to integrate and you don't have to do the file edits every time the arcade system is updated.
You can find the hook solution in post #392 of the Icash thread.

It will substract a certain amount of credits for playing and also award a certain amount of credits if you get a high score.
Aren't there such hooks with vbCredits, so this can be as easily applied as with Icash?

I know all about the many file edits - and I've defended them for a long time :D The reason is ibproarcade doesnt have many hooks in the places that the addon needs (if you look at the plugins, theres a good dozen+ there where possible!). so.. the only other way is to edit the files. icash and others are more simplistic in their arcade integrations, as they arent integrated in as many ways.

So, my hands are tied with that issue, but I do have the set of files edited already for you which I can send - but only for the latest version of the arcade addon. I will update vborg with the newest version when 1.4 final is ready and posted here (to avoid confusion). I have permission to even post those edited files, but at vborg only.

I'd already read that you could send the edited version, but then I wonder if I'm able to disable several things, because I only need the two hooks I mentioned, so paying with credits for playing and earning an amount of credits when won a highscore, nothing more.
We only use the credits system for fun on our forums.:)

yes everything in vbcredits is easily disabled, however leaving out various plugins/file edits is not really advised, such as if you try to enable something in the future and forget why it isnt working (or which things you left out in the first place). not to mention sometimes certain plugins rely on other plugins, even if its not immediately apparent

I am not interested in automated cashing out of credits, members once they have reach certin points can submit a request and the money can be sent to them through paypal and the points deducted from their account... I am pretty sure it is do-able...

you have to select the "blank" option in vbookie. also, vCash (internal vbookie points) will still display unless you select to turn it off in the same area.

use the mass credit updater. in 1.4, there is a link to it in the vbcredits menu. if you are having trouble filling it out let me know. (its all thoroughly explained when you get to it)

This version is stable except for one thing.. which was removed while i work on it, so its not like its going to cause errors or anything. Basicially, deleting/moving/merging/copying posts wont affect credits, because the math involved is pretty crazy because theres like 6 different credit awards involved :-p So to spare the weird results, it just ignores it in rc2. When thats fixed, it will be 1.4 final.

Aside from half the admin help, everything else is fully complete and bugfree, being tested for a couple months now. Of course, should you find anything else, be sure to post it in the bugtracker linked in the first post ^_^

yea, thats usually what i do with huge updates like this - my forum is due to move datacenters this week so it'll be good timing, it'll be locked down for the move and by the time DNS updates fully i'll have it installed :D

vBCredits 1.4rc2 has been updated to rev1.

This minor release only addresses the 2 common upgrade problems people have been having.
Unless you are getting a database error during upgrade or have errors regarding $validfields, you do not need to apply this update.

If you wish to apply the rev1 over 1.4rc2, only the files credits_plugins.php and functions_credits.php need to overwritten to complete the update. If you have not upgraded to 1.4rc2 yet, then follow the full regular upgrade/install instructions.

in 1.4, the post award system has been expanded. they are now the latter 6 options in the donations and post award system box.

to mimic the exact behavior from 1.3, set the group in question (presumably admin) to have all -1 for the 4 limiters.

the reason those are there is for people who want to allow their entire community to use the system on each other, but to keep it from getting out of hand.

vbcredits does not and wont have the option to change the points column.

in ibank, you can change the money row in THAT to use vBCredits - use credits as the setting. im pretty sure the same thing for stocktrader, and certain for vbay.

you can use the icash -> vbcredits converter to transfer the old amount in the money column, so that you can carry on with what you are doing.

So I have unistalled the xml file.
And I deleted the files on the server.

Do I also have to delete the script edits in the templates or does that go automatically when you uninstall the xml file???

well, work backward through the installation txt file :-p if you cant find an edit, you probably put it somewhere else or never made it, in which case you should try using the template searching feature in your acp, and search for partial lines (not whole blocks) as whitespace varies widely from what i see people doing

TMS is the template modification system available here at vborg. basically allows you to manage template edits like plugins, allowing you to update vb without having to redo all of your now-expired templates.

i hope you change your mind in the future, especially after some of the addons are done :D btw, there is a vbcommerce demo on the official vbcredits site if anyone hasnt seen it yet :)

first, make sure you are applying the installation for vb3.7, this is the vb3.6 version. (the link is in the top post at the top ;)) make sure you are using rc2. check that the credits.php file is uploaded to your forum root folder. if you are using a hack which is not in your forum root folder (cmps pages and the galleries are common examples) your links in the navbar will be wrong - edit the navbar template to include your whole forumpath.

Darkskilz - ignore those instructions, and download rev1 from the first post. To update rc2 to rev1, simply upload the credits_plugins.php and functions_credits.php to their corresponding locations on your server, and youre done, and your problem will go away :)

using the installation instructions as a guide, go through your templates looking for the code you are supposed to be adding. if you find any of it, remove it. tms applies the template edits ON TOP of the regular templates, so the additions made by tms will be invisible in the editor, meaning what IS in there is actually a duplicate

so, for now you can search for phrase variables based on hovering over the old link, and e[global][something], search for the somethings.. :-p

well, those links will NOT work for everyone because what you put is based on phraseids... which will be different for each website.

what i was talking about was this:

that setting phrase is just what it shows for that setting - im talking about the phrases that it LINKS to. the [global] part was wrong (i think they are [credits_global] now), but the [credits_**etc**] stuff should still be there if you search by VARIABLE NAME (not text - you have to select to search by variable name...)

if you still cant find that stuff, send me an admin login with language permissions, and i will walk you through it

Hi I think this is a mod my new board would benefit from greatly, so thank you for the good work put into it. A few questions

At the beginning I see you were looking to integrate this into vbookie? Has this now happened? As I am running 3.6.8 with vbookie, and in an ideal world want to add some sort of arcade or casino mod, but they all link to the same points/cash sourse so users have one amount for the site. With your mod it is perfect to earn points, creating threads etc which I like.

Can you let me know if this is compatible with vbookie on 3.6.8 and if you recommend a mod that offers gaming/gambling to add that would also be compatible with your mod.

currently there are no logs for regular earnings. this will be in the next major release of vbcredits (after 1.4 final)

alright, then check the following:

run the template edit test thing to make sure that the automatic template edit was successful (sometimes if your style doesnt have the "find" code, it wont get applied..

then check your settings if it still doesnt show up:
in the global settings, is visibility set to "nobody" (or nothing)?
in usergroup settings, is your usergroup set to excluded from vbcredits?
are you looking at a user who belongs to a usergroup that is excluded from vbcredits or is set to hide their credit totals?
are you in a forum which you set to hide all credit totals?

if still no to all of the above, its possible theres a conflict with another hack, in which case you should send me an admin login, and we will go from there.

or, use the post award system, and give your mod usergroup nonzero limits (and enable them to award negative amounts, aka subtraction permissions)

I can't find the option in how much you can loan / borrow from the bank max, and how many times per day.

maximum amount per loan is a usergroup setting. there is no max per day option because i figured it wasnt needed. there is a max per loan and a max # of loans (all in the usergroup settings) which effectively put a cap on an overall amount. if they wanted to loan more in a given day, they should increase the max per loan. if you can think of a specific scenario where it would work better, convince me otherwise :)

in the instructions is a list of code changes that start with the name of the template, code to find, and code to apply at the find point (such as replace, add above, or add below)

in the acp go to style manager under styles and templates menu. you will have to work on all of the styles you have enabled. open and find the templates named in the instructions, search for the find code, and do what it says :D

thats the post award system, which is now split into several limiting settings in the usergroup editor, so that you could even grant the power to regular members without it getting out of hand. or give all -1 (unlimited) to your admin group to recreate what you were used to in 1.3 :-p

are you using the latest version?

if so, check to see if induction and activity are unchecked in the applicable negation awards in the award settings for vbcredits. having them checked may lead to negative totals if you dont realize how the math gets applied in those situations (and you dont configure accordingly).

umm, i cant go into great detail on the shop addons because vborg doesnt like it (even though they will be free) but you can see a lot more about them at vbcredits.com, and of course you will be totally open to asking me anything there.

vbcommerce is an all-purpose itemshop which you can see a preview of on the homepage of vbcredits.com currently finishing up development to open up beta for our premium members
vbcustomizer will be in development this summer after vbcommerce is available for everyone. it will cover stuff like bold usernames and italic thread titles. you could technically sell them in vbcommerce, but would be better integrated in its own addon.

3) If you do NOT have TMS installed, or if TMS fails on your custom templates, apply the 14 Template Edits to the 10 Templates listed below.
- If you don't know what TMS is, you probably don't have it installed. Either way, making the edits manually will not hurt your forum
- Most of the templates can be modified to fit your styles, especially in the cases where credits are displayed
- Please note that when you upgrade vBulletin, you will need to perform these modifications again

My next question is how to I show the top members with the most credits. Say the top ten members with the most credits.

Perhaps if there is a little display box or something on top that show that list. So we know who has the most credits. This way, I will know who has the most credit.

Also is there a secondary credits category say for a period (say credits B). For instance, if I want to run a contest for the month of May, starting May, everyone will have zero credits B. Then at the end of the month, the one with the most credits B will win.

vbcredits has a richest users list that displays in the donation/drawings link in the usercp. in the specialty settings you specify how many users to order by. in the main settings you select which display amount is ordered by (displayed). you can exclude groups from the list in the usergroup editor. i intend to have more modules for richest users in the next major release (after 1.4 final). you can also in the memberlist settings, choose to include a column for credits, which can also be ordered high or low to create a forumwide ranking.

there is no secondary thing like that, but in the next major release there will be logs which could be viewed by date like that

DarkWaltz, I had not gotten a chance to upgrade to 4.0RC prior to moving servers. This is the first forum move I've done alone, and I've run into a peculiarity I was wondering if yoy could enlighten me on. I got this error after the import:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method vBulletinHook::fetch_hookusage() in /home/******/public_html/cogonline/forums/plugins/credits_plugins.php on line 46
I tracked it down to two plugins causing the error. Define Showthread Template and Display Navbar. Once I turn those two off, I no longer get the error. Looking at my old hooks, I don't see any differences between the working forum and the imported board. Everything is identical (barring a couple of hooks that seemed to have switched places on the listing).

I also don't see anything peculiar in line 46:

EDIT: I should mention that in one of my first attempts to fix the error, I re-imported 4.0, allowing an overwrite, and I re-uploaded the plugins folder from the ZIP file. Both to no avail.

I believe I know what happened now. When I uploaded my files, I didn't allow for overwrite. In which case, I had already made the older vB fix, but that changed file was never uploaded to the new site. I belive a "doh!" is in order.

that file edit you made only updates your hook/plugin system to the vb3.6.6+ version.

again, the change made to the way rc2 does plugins no longer requires the vb3.6.6+ version (so no file edits needed).

so.. upgrading your vbulletin or vbcredits renders harmless whether you made the file edits or not :-p

I'm installing this hack now on VB 3.6.9. I don't have TMS installed (I don't think, i've never heard of it) and i've done all the file edits mentioned in the installation instruction file.

It says I now need to import the supplied product-credits.xml file through the Products/Plugins system in my admincp. I can't find such a file... I have bitfield_credits.xml, hooks_credits.xml and cpnav_credits.xml, but no product-credits.xml. What do I need to do?

The credits, what it`s doing exactly. Becausse I read the "installation" in the directory vbcredits/INSTALL and there is a lot off stuff what I have to do.


But what I`am searching for. Is a hack, that`s make it possible when there is a click on a hyperlink. It will add 10 credit points or more. Is that possible with this hack? And is this hack for credit points something where my members have to pay for?

actually the installation should be in line with all the regular large-addon hacks..

also, aside from maybe the profiles or threads, clicking on arbitrary links does not earn you credits. i might put in something for that in the next major release, as it will have a more comprehensive log and be able to better regulate something that sounds quite exploitable :-p

just the activity award. also, you probably want a negative value for the negation award! otherwise if an award is otherwise negated (post deleted, attachment deleted etc) then they would get MORE credits!!

use the mass credit updater tool in the acp under the vbcredits menu. select the groups you want to apply, no awards, and 0 base credits, and let it run.

Hey i have a question about the paycheck system. I see two options for this and the 1st option is
"Interval for Activity and Paycheck Awards"
Number of days between each activity and paycheck award applications. Activity needs to be qualified according to the following setting.

and

"Paycheck Credit"
Applied every set time period with no particular restrictions.

Now i've set the intervals to 7 days and the amounts that each usergroup should get. These are my questions

Does the person have to be on the forums at least once a day? for the entire 7 days? and if so do they then get paid? (if that is the case what day do they get paid? and can that be set. like example every sunday,

Plz describe exactly how this function actually works because i really want to use this feature on my boards but im not sure of its complete functionality. Thanks for your great mod and i look foward to your response

Paycheck and Activity awards are similar to each other - they both get applied at the same time, but to get the activity award they need to meet your criteria for 'active', which is a setting in the award options.

So if they have [posted, logged in, searched, etc - depends on your setting] at least once during the time period, it counts. At the end of the time period and the start of another period, it checks if the person was active during the previous period, and awards accordingly. Note that if you have the Activity award selected in the applicable negation awards setting (also in awards options), then if they DONT qualify as active, the user will get (award amount) * (negation multiplier). Normally that would mean for a -1.5 negation multiplier and a 10 credit award, being inactive means you LOSE 15 credits :-p This was the old default until i made it optional. You may or may not want to do that so I am just letting you know.

When it actually happens is on a rolling basis starting from when you first installed the hack. I understand this can kinda be a little weird, so controls for adjusting the dates will be in the next major release.
