Please help. I installed this point system for the 3.6.9 version. Now I am upgrading to 3.7 version. What do I do.

Should I reinstall the points system for the older version first, upgrade for vBulletin to 3.7 and then reinstall the point system for the newer version.

Please help.

go and download the vb3.7 version of vbcredits 1.4rc2. basically follow the regular upgrade instructions, but go through the installation template edits to double-check your edits are still there (some have changed for vb3.7 specifically). you should not lose any settings or accounts if done this way (uninstalling will). if you need help PM me.

You said that the mod doesn't automatically add any template edits. But what about automatic file edits?

I was hoping to resolve this without having to give anyone admin access to my site. I'll reinstall again and see what the problem is. This time it would be on 3.6.10 instead.

And what exactly is TMS?

it does not make any automatic file edits; it uses the vbulletin plugin system. these are more like amendments made to the file at runtime only and can turned on and off; the actual files themselves remain exactly how vbulletin provided them.

like i said, you might have missed uploading the plugins file. there has yet to be any problems with it since rev1, but i would have to see your site if theres something new indeed.

also, TMS is the template modification system available here at vborg. i do NOT recommend installing it solely for a single hack; it is best for site-wide conversion to the TMS system, which you may or may not want to do in exchange for not doing a couple template edits from one hack.

I did as the installation told me to do with all the template edits. However, the blank page still occurs for my forumhome. The only time the forumhome page is restored is when I disable the modification via the manage products section of the acp.

Even you said you'd like to help me out, but I do not wish to provide any admin login info to my site so I have decided to uninstall this modification instead. Thanks again for your time.

...the other reason i would have liked to see your homepage, is that you may have indeed found a bug that i should know about to prevent this from happening to other people.

if you would like you could give me a separate admin account which you can delete when i am finished. just start out with plugin access so i can troubleshoot the homepage plugins. i would encourage you to even be talking to me via IM while I diagnose the problem, so you know fully what I would be doing. i have helped literally dozens of other sites such as yourself, and i hope i have proven myself completed trustworthy to everyone thus far.

in any case, i hope you change your mind in the future, but thank you for trying it anyway :)

I am installing the blog addons and when I try to import the xml file from the server, this is the message I get.

Is is because of the credits vbulletin cretids.

you are using the wrong vbcredits version with the wrong version of vb :p i would guess you are using vb3.7 with the vb3.6 version of vbcredits. the other version is linked in the top post :)

we took care of this over IM a few days ago :D the problem was the ftp program being used wasnt deep-copying the bitfield file :p so the problem wasnt going away. its fixed now.

i keep getting a bitfield collision error

because you are using vb3.7, you need to be using the vbcredits for vb3.7. if you are using rc2 for vb3.6, then follow the instructions in the post i linked to switch versions, and get rid of the error.

Ok I am getting an error.
I made the plugin folder and put it in the root area.
Then when I try to import the xml it gives me this:

In order to upgrade or install vBCredits, you must upload credits_installer.php to the plugins folder within your forum directory!

I dont know whats wrong can I get some help?

I installed vbCredits and decided I didn't really have a need for it, so I uninstalled it. Now that I've upgraded to vB 3.7 I'm getting the Bitfield Collision: credits_cantearn error when I try to add other products. I've read the frustration with the repeated questions but didn't really see how any of those can help me. Should I install the new vbcredits and then uninstall it again?

Any thoughts?

it would seem you didnt remove all of the files, especially the *_credits.xml files from your forumroot/includes/xml folder

One question. Do you release the final soon? Because i can´t use this version because the deleting of posts are not working with vbcredits. ;)

And the old version (1.3) don´t work on 3.7, i can´t update my vBulletin before update. :p

like i said, you can use the post award system from threads to adjust user credits after post maintenance. i havent been working on vbcredits itself lately as im working on the other addons.

however if its extremely important i can help set you up with the old code back in. it wont work very well when you do things like moving/merging/copying threads and posts, but at least the basic deletion stuff should be well enough, just not fully accurate...

Ok, i have tested the 1.3 in my 3.7 test board. It works without problems. Must I still follow something? Or change something to run the vbcredits error free?

I´m using only the following settings:

One quick question, on my .... credits.php?do=banking page I have the below message for Bank Account and Loans. How do I change those high percentage numbers and 0 credit numbers. I have been looking in the admincp but not seeing where to change it. Members are using it like crazy to build up credits.

Bank Account
Minimum savings of 1,000 Credits required for 500.0% interest every 30 days. Deposits require pending time of 1 days before interest accrues, or a 5.0% early withdrawal fee applies. Deposits may be moderated. Maximum savings of Unlimited Credits allowed. Transaction fee of 0.5% applies on all transfers.

Loans
Amount must be between 0 and 0 Credits, and may be moderated. Minimum payments of 10.0% need to be paid back every 30 days to avoid late fees. Interest on outstanding balances is 1,500.0%. You may set up automatic payment plans. Your credibility rating may impact your interest rates or spending abilities.

Yes I've done that file change, and I've reinstalled Vb from scratch again and it still doesn't work. Can someone please tell me how I can fix this?

all of that is in your usergroup settings, mainly the things like interest rates and maximums. if you cant figure out which is which after looking through them PM me

I changed the following in the Banking, Loans and Drawings section of the "Manage Usergroup Award" link for each of my usergroups:

Savings Interest Rate: 5 to 0.05
Loan Interest Rate: 15 to 0.15
Maximum per Loan: 0 to 1,000

in your usergroup settings for your usergroup see what the limits are set for the post award system. for it to be unlimited it needs -1 for all 4 awards

There are many integrations which use vbcredits, found listed here (as well as links to download those addons)

There are also hacks which can use vbcredits simply by setting a value in the third party hack's settings. I generally dont maintain a list of such hacks because they can be made without me knowing about them :p but if you have something in mind ask and I will try and point you in the right direction.

I have opened up the demos for the addons to guests, so you dont have to register to my site to check them out (but if you want to ask something about it or give your feedback you should do so there)

updating the forums does not automatically revert your template edits, but they may show up as needing to be updated. in those cases you should check out the template comparison tool included in vb to see highlighted what exactly needs to be changed, and then merge the two together. there isnt a way to preserve vbcredits template edits in the current version, but this is a goal for the next version.

check the following:
is credit earning enabled globally?
are you or the person you are looking at a member of a usergroup NOT blocked from vbcredits?
are you or the person you are looking at set to enabled to earn credits in the user editor?
is the awards you are trying to earn set at something above 0?
are you in a forum that is set to have credit earning disabled? or an override for that forum for your group and that action as 0?

I intend to continue to support 3.6.8, however I will probably leave it only for bugfixes (so new feature releases will only be for the latest vb version).

Welps...this kinda sucks. I assumed that this would work for 3.5 since you had the old vbulletins text in the zip...but I guess not.

I'm getting a major error anytime I try ato access anything other than the "Configure" options in the AdminCP. Everything else gives me the following error:

Basically, all the errors point to this column not existing: "language.phrasegroup_cprofilefield"

I'm also getting this in the donations/drawings page:

This is slightly depressing as it was quite a bit of template editing to get to this point. Any ideas, or should I just un-install? Thanks!

Unfortunately, I have not tried to install on vB3.5, nor did I consider it during development. While I did intend to backgrade it a little, it would not be until I was at a version I felt was complete, and at very low priority. Sorry >.< installing outside of the recommended versions is pretty much at your own risk, and I think you should uninstall until there is a version I deem suitable.

Thanks a bunch Darkwaltz, I should have just asked in the first place. I tried to search for it, but the vb software doesn't let you search for stuff like "3.5.x".

I'm currently using iCash, but I was always hoping to upgrade this. My forum has a ton of custom work, and until vB hits the big 4.0 I wasn't planning on redoing it because it would require a seriously huge amount of work.

Please keep us older 3.5 guys in your thoughts, as there's currently not many solutions out there for us. Thanks.

well, vborg has this nice little directory

and then you can select the version you want to go through, and search specifically in them - no need to search for the version numbers.

vB3.5/6/7 (and presumably, 8) are for the most part similar, and not that impossible to up upgrade between them. Also, most hacks from 3.5 will work okay on 6/7, just not going backwards (of course, some hacks offer specific versions which you should always take advantage of). The point is, itll be just as much work upgrading to vb4 from vb3.5 than it will be from vb3.8, so go ahead and upgrade to vb3.7 for now to take advantage of what you are missing (hacks included) - besides vb4 still seems quite a bit away.

1.3 is totally out of date. I didn't relize people were still using 1.3, its up to you. I'm using 1.4 RC2 v3.7 which you can get on our site, and its working beautifuly. Depends on what addons you want. We've got our vbcommece up on the site now for people to test out for the next few days which is 1.4+

Yes, if you want to use some of our newer addons. You will not lose any of your previous settings or credit amounts if you follow the directions for upgrading.

do you have loans enabled? sounds like you have a lot of negative rating threshholds, which will turn everyone into that. you could lower the threashold even more in your banking settings. to a low negative number

I've tried to disable the loan option -- and lower the award system, but still spending options are disable to some users.

Oh, how can I check on the balance of a central account? And is there a way that I can raise the value of that account? Again, thanks for your support.

Because users already have such poor ratings, you have to adjust your bad credit score threshold in the global bank settings, or else it will still keep dropping people's access despite loans disabled. Try putting like -99999999.

Currently the central account cant be directly manipulated (unless you know your way around your database :p) but theres a trick to seeing how much is in it. Enable your admin usergroup to use the post award system with no limits (-1 for all 4 values). In the global specialty settings set to spend from central account. When you go to use the post award system within a thread, the available credits will display the exact amount that is in the central account.

Check those users' profiles in the admin control panel. Their Can Earn permissions might be set to no. Also, you might have some forums turned off for posting, or overrides to 0 for certain usergroup / forum combinations.

:D for anyone else, if you are using vb3.7/8 you should be using the vb3.7 flavor of vbcredits (linked in the top post). If you upgrade from vb3.6 you need to upgrade vbcredits to the corresponding version as well, otherwise you will get bitfield collisions on anything you try to import (not just vbcredits)

Is there anyway to show the total amount of credits earnt on the site. Id prefer it count the total number of points earnt all together and disregard any credits spent or taken away but if it can only count how many credits there currently are on the site then thats fine as well.

A problem occur, am not sure whether it's bug or because I set it wrong in some section, but almost everyday, there will be random member have credit increase tremendously (and this could be an active or inactive member). I have to manually reset it back in the user option from ACP. Can you help? Again, thanks for all your support.

I have another question, hopefully, this will be my last one :-)

A problem occur, am not sure whether it's bug or because I set it wrong in some section, but almost everyday, there will be random member have credit increase tremendously (and this could be an active or inactive member). I have to manually reset it back in the user option from ACP. Can you help? Again, thanks for all your support.

How much tremendously? did you enable unlimited access of the post award system to your regular members?

Is there anyway to show the total amount of credits earnt on the site. Id prefer it count the total number of points earnt all together and disregard any credits spent or taken away but if it can only count how many credits there currently are on the site then thats fine as well.

No :-/ if you enable the display of credits in your memberlist settings, you can see a column of credits for all users that way (plus with sorting :p)
