I have added styles to username with simple function:
Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------
Please add this to next release :)
Is it possible to show this box, if I have "Display Logged in Users?" under ForumHome options turned off??
Thanks

Hi,
I have something very strange happening. I had the 3.6 version on this on my 3.7.3 board. But the setting doesn't show the people anymore which has been online in the past 24 hours, but only the people which have been offline...
Strange to explain this, but the current online people are not in the list of the people who have ? So I have current online example 100 users, but the 24h mentions only 25 people has visitied the forum.
Please help and thanks.

Did you upgrade from an old version ? Possibly you have edited your forumhome template in the past and need to remove that code.

Hi,
in short: Something happend on the forum that it doesn't show all the users which have been on the forum for the last 24 hours. The strange thing is that it only shows the users which or are admin or which just registered on the forum. How can this be ? So strange. This also means the the now online users are even more then the last 24 hours users. What could solve this issue ?
Thanks.
No idea, what you describe is simply not possible - there is nothing in the code to pick out any specific type of user, its purely date based.

Hi,
Is there something that can cause the dates to be not correct and how to correct them for the server.... A user is online, but when I look at the profile of the user, it mentions that the user was last seen yesterday.... How can this be solved...I assume something has moved or so... or something is not giving correct data...
Is there anything to reset this... ?
Thanks.

Hi,
I found something strange... the user is online at this moment, but when I look at his profile he isn;t online... please see below. last time was 16/10... but today = 22/10.. so how can this be. I even have rebuild and repaired the database. Nothing helped. Is this a database problem.. ?? Or so... ?
Thanks.

I am sure this has been suggested before, so this is just another vote: Count guests as well.
It seems like you could probably code this to look at the currently logged in users, grab their IP address, and put it into an array or table and count them. At the end of 24 hours, expire their IP address.
Otherwise, this is a great mod. :D
For Guests use the Guest Tracking mod.

I am using vb 3.8.1 and updated this mod, it is not compatable... :(
Um, there is no 3.8.1 yet.
If you installed this while running 3.7 and then upgraded to 3.8 then it should work fine, there is no version you can install direct on 3.8 atm.

Hi Paul, thanks for your work! I just installed this mod again (finally).
As you can see in the image below, 'Currently active users' verses 'Total members that have visited the forum today' numbers disagree.
As I recall, currently active users is correct. Most users ever online (in 1 day) was 22, 0n 12-26-07.
http://www.changewewant.com/vb_whatsgoingonbox.png
I’m in the middle of customizing the What's Going On info, so the duplication of information will eventually disappear, I’m just trying to figure out why I’m seeing this discrepancy.
Any ideas?

There is nothing wrong with the numbers posted, what exactly are you querying ?
Hi Paul,
I'm confused with the "Most users ever online was 22, 12-26-2007 at 05:43 PM." in "Currently Active Users:" with "The most members online in one day was 2, 06/17/2008." in " Total members that have visited the forum today:".
Now, today, it's correct.
http://www.changewewant.com/vb_whatsgoingonbox2.png
Where 6/17/2008 came from is beyond me because, there have definately been more then 2 users online since then but, I think the point is moot since it's correct now.
Thanks for your quick reply and I'm sorry for the delay in replying to you.
Best Regards,
Paul
Most users includes guests, not just members.
To get the 6/17/2008 I would say you had the old most members mod installed earlier in the year. Installing this automatically removes that, but does not erase any total it may have stored. This mod would pick that old total up again.

Any ideas on how to fix?

Something isn't right for me... I just noticed on my website:
Total members that have visited the forum today: 73 http://www.rchangout.com/forums/images/misc/whos_online.gif (http://www.rchangout.com/forums/memberlist.php)The most members online in one day was 125, Today.
Its fine, its simply due to your members being in different timezones, your visit total will catch up as the day progresses.

Fantastic Paul, just absolutely fantastic, installed, and working perfectly! :)
But I do have a question, I've literally looked through 21 pages of no answers, other then your "Track guest visits".
But, I'm wondering however, how can you exclude a certain User group from being displayed?
There is no facility to stop certain usergroups being displayed.

I heard that u can make so that only certain usergroups see this but I am not sure where to do this?
I guess you go to the cache_template and then enter something in the $ugroups =
but do you write "administrators", administrators, 'administrators' or what?
tnx for the nice add_on ;)

No, you put the usergroup ids in the apropriate vb option settings.

Hi Paul
Pardon my ignorance but where would this display on the forum and does the "Currently active users" area in the "What's going on" box take care of this?
Sorry tech knob here but this looks like something I can actually install.
Gail
It displays on the forum homepage, in the "What's Going On" area.
Currently active users is exactly that, just current users, not everyone who has visited today.

Ok thanks so much. I have a lot of Vb stuff to learn. :) And thank you very much for the quick response.
Hi Paul, Merry Christmas. :)
I love this mod and I've been using it for about a month, but in the one month the forum has been open we've been getting an escalating number of bots who I've been banning.
What I want to know is this: is it possible to prevent the banned usergroup from appearing in the "total members that have visited this forum" section? I'd prefer guests and prospective new members not to see banned names amongst the genuine members.
Please let me know if this is something you can do, or if you know of a mod I can use to compliment yours to do the job.
Thanks again for a lovely mod,
Kate xxx

Why?
No idea, maybe you have an old customised template, but I can only guess.

Well, i have this installed but i gotta ask about this line.
4. Users who should display as coloured or bold etc will be displayed correctly (based on the display usergroup).
My forum shows a few members not in bold which is correct and staff shows as bold and colored which is also correct. But the other members are in bold. Image attached below.
I would guess your markup html is incorrect (missing tags, or in wrong order).

Sorry i kinda dont have any background in php just basic c and c++ and a lil java. But im kind of starting to understand it.
Would you mind explaining what i have to do to make those member's names not in bold?
I mean if the first ones are working fine why would the others be screwed up.
I tried taking out the bold in the staff but it didnt work. Same thing first few names arent in bold and the rest are. o_o
EDIT: nvm i think i found out how it works. The members in bold have visited the forum long before the members not in bold. lol thought it was an error or sumthin. =P Thanx for the quick support though.
this is not working for me with 3.8.1

as Paul has stated it's a html markup error.... user's dont fade from bold... only user groups with the bold markup should be bold:)
check your user groups mark up tags... i had <b/> instead of </b> on one user group:erm:

oK sorry you are right , but is there an easy way to find solution to my problem as well .
its not so nice that everybody see who are the banned users.
Maybe some banned users are trying everyday to make new accounts and as a result you can see them and people beleives that somethink is wrong.
I am not sure if you get my point or not ?
Sorry, there is no option to restrict who is listed.

Hello Paul,
Is it possible to display amount of time user left since instead of the exact time the user left in - when hovering on members' names in the forumhome.
I want it to be (3 Hours ago) instead of (11:05 PM).
You would need additional code to do that.

I know support isn't available for this, but can anybody tell me where the template is found? It's just that in my 'what's going on' box I've got rid of the left hand cells [with the images in] (I got rid of the colspans) however this means I need to delete the first table cell in the 'users online today' list.
