Note: Use of a standardized avatar will help keep this style clean looking. I've noticed when allowing multiple size avatars (on most styles) it will cause mis-alignment of the postbit (avatars would have to be pretty large, but it does happen). So if you see that your postbit display is out of line, increase the postbit column width containing the avatar and other info, or consider using a avatar width smaller than 160px in width.
Wow. Very very good!
Would love to use it but the colors don't fit my board.

Just a question. How can I delete the small rectangles around the text in the postbit? What I've to edit?

Simply revert your postbit_legacy template and they will be gone. Alternativly you can go to the style's css, scroll all the way to the bottom in the additional css area, and remove the border from

Hello Mark,
First of all, this style simply rocks! I am about to upgrade from 3.6.10 to 3.7 and since my current style won't work on 3.7, I have to switch styles. I tested this style out on a test forum and it looks fantastic (especially with vBAdvanced). I got one question though. Since I am using VBAdvanced and integrated the Forums in it, I don't need the log-in box in the top right corner. Is it possible to remove that box and also make it so that when I enter the banner link in StyleVars, it shows the banner in the entire box. At this moment, I've got a banner which I use for my website. The width is way too big but on my site, the banner just stops where the screen stops if you get what I mean. So with a small resolution, you see less of the banner than when you use a higher resolution. I want the same with the header of this style. So no log-in box and no background color. Just the banner and that the height adjust to the height of the banner but the width is set to the screen resolution.
I hope it's all a bit clear lol. If not, I will give it another go lol.
Thanks in advance mate. Again, awesome style, I really like it!
Take care,
Bozza

This is certainly one of the best free styles currently avaliable for vBulletin. I have tried using 3 paid styles, however support isn't very good and this one just seems to work. For some reason my users are really happy with this style as well. Looks like I will probably be sticking with it, thanks mark;)
Like the template, but have a couple of problems!
The main reason I went for this and installed was because I liked the thread post positioning. ie all the member info underneath the avatar on one side.
For some reason, it still shows similar to the default VB format. Avator shown and other info still in the same postion and not moved. Is this purely a CSS thing? I'm just wondering if it actually imported the all the CSS stuff for the template? Sorry if this seems like silly questions - but new install and still finding my way around!

I like your design and uploaded, but I dont know what problem it showing like http://www.visiontogether.com/?styleid=4 please have a look why header and screen not align same like your , Please guide me how to solve.
Also can you tell me , how I can change the google advertisement code to my adsense ?
Thanks in advance.

12 May 2008, 16:24
mvmtravel, you have the image directory uploaded to the wrong location. The images should be located here: http://www.visiontogether.com/curves
As far as the adverts:
NOTE: To Remove Advertisements, you simply go to the ADMINCP - > Style Manager - > Edit this styles templates - >
Revert all Ad location Templates to the default vBulletin value, or if you would like to use your own ads in place of the sample ads, edit each ad location template and replace the ad code with your own.
guv, go to the admincp, vbulletin options, style and language settings, and choose the postbit legacy version of the postbit.

Mark, Thanks for quick reply. My name Is Ajay... After I unzip your curve directory, I can not see any image directory? Where I should find image directory or images, I just unzip your files, and load all the curve directory under root, is I am mistaking something?
markbolyard
12 May 2008, 17:03
There is a directory in the zip called curves. In it, there are several other image directories such as, attach, avatars, buttons, editor, gradients, and so on. That curve directory needs uploaded to your root directory so your directory structure looks like this:
public_html
-----------curves
------------------attach
------------------avatars
------------------buttons
------------------editor
etc.

Hey Mark. First off, thanks for the design bud.
I am having a bit of an issue with the Thread Display title when someone clicks on a thread. If you look at the tab name in either IE or Firefox, it will say "'Thread Title' - After Dark#post1". Which template do I need to edit in order for the page title to read as "'Thread Title' - After Dark"?
Thanks again.

12 May 2008, 17:08
Mark, Everything is same as you suggested, because I just unzip your directory and load directory under root http://www.visiontogether.com/curves , and all directory under curves... there are 14 directories under curves. But I don't understand where is the problem?
markbolyard
12 May 2008, 17:22
http://www.visiontogether.com/curves/buttonbg.gif
If your directory structure was correct, I would see a image at this url.
I don't know what you are doing. When I try to access http://www.visiontogether.com/curves/ i get a forbidden error message, thus, you either have something set that doesn't allow access to that directory, or it doesn't exist. You are welcome to contact me via PM, and if you want, I would be happy to FTP the images to the correct location. I'd just need temp access. Other than that, I don't know what else to tell you.

Thanks again.
It would be in the SHOWTHREAD template which is not modified in this style. The code is at the top of the template:
Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------
Based on the code above, your title should be THREAD TITLE - FORUM NAME (title). Are you running vbseo or something else that would change that?
guv, go to the admincp, vbulletin options, style and language settings, and choose the postbit legacy version of the postbit.
Many thanks Mark. All now working!
Another thing I would like to do, is to have alternating colours in the forum threads. (Im referring the the thread page inside a forum - not the posts themselves.)
At the moment, they are still displayed with vertical column colours. I'm assuming, this is going to be something similar to the solution you've suggested above - but not too clear!
Any ideas?
Many thanks again. Really like the design. :)

It works fine now. I deleted the post as it was made before I installed this style. Apparently the thread display was jacked up and made a bad transition.
Anyways, fixed now :D

i really like this style. It's nice and clean. The only think I didn't like was the yellow so i edited the template a bit to my liking. I reused some of the graphics included in the style and removed the yellow from the header & the footer. I also edited most of the font colors and links.
Only thing that's left is the logo, but I'll have to wait until I can get a program to edit the psd.
Thanks for creating the style.

Thank you very much for this great style. It is one of the very few styles for 3.7.0 that I like.
However, I have two small problems I would like to resolve before I move this style from my test forum to my real forum.
1 - How do I change the font that is used by the style? I do not have a problem with the default font except that it is not capable of rendering at least two characters that are used on my site: ">" and "©" Instead of properly displaying these two symbols, it gives me a blue diamond with a question mark inside it.
I attached two images showing this. You can see the blue diamond in place of the copyright symbol at the bottom of the page and in place of the > when navigating to a certain forum or thread in the breadcrumb section at the top of the page.
2 - This problem is even smaller. The time that is shown at the very top right of the forum for users who are logged in is displayed in a color that is very difficult to read against the blue background. Because you can not register or log into the forum, I have attached a screenshot of this area. On the second line of the image I have attached, you can just barely see the time in blue/gray color on the very right side.
Thank you very much!

I managed to fix the color of the time by going to the Style Manager --> All Style Options --> Time Color
I then simply changed the color to black.
markbolyard
17 May 2008, 16:34
And you can change the fonts by going to the Main CSS for the style and entering the font face you want to use in place of the existing.
kienjakenobi
17 May 2008, 17:29
Thank you. However, I was wrong to think that this was caused by the font. I tried changing to font, but the issue never went away. The problem was actually in the templates.
I had to go to the footer template and the navbar_link template and replace instances of the black diamond with the character that should have been there.
Anyone used the ultimate side columns hack with this?

I can't seem to get my header colors to match. I used the c1.psd and cropped it to 208 x 68 (what c1_02.jpg was) and saved it as that, but the outcome is below. All I did was change the text and remove some layers...

I upgraded my forum to the latest 3.7 version last night and installed your theme once everything was setup. The theme looks great and the forums looking neat and professional.
The only problem I'm facing at the moment is when i try to change the time color from Main CSS it gives me an error. It happens when i change the color and try saving the new settings.
Error:
Code:

I do love this Style very much! But I have a quick question to do with editing the main navigation in the beige background.
I want to add another line, so I have two. But I get the curved edges, and I'd like only the bottom (added) navigation to have these edges. Could you help me here, or anyone else maybe?

You can change the time when you edit the template, just look for the time area and where you choose the color.
I have 1 problem, When I view a post it has this white box above it. How do I fix this?
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y190/andrewc90/Problem.jpg
I also cant figure out how to remove the google ad that is not in the header or footer, but the strait line of words that says ads by google and then like links follow it. Where is that one located?
markbolyard
02 Jun 2008, 01:45
That white box looks like your shoutbox. Refer to the documentation that is associated to your shoutbox mod. The text link ads, those should be located in the template ad_navbar_below under the Ad Location Templates. Just revert it. If it's not there (which I'm pretty sure it is, it would be in the navbar template, but I don't think so. Double click ad location templates to expand the list of templates under that, and revert all that are red.
Patrick, good to hear your figured your problem out there :)

Under the Main CSS for the style, scroll down and look for .time which is the color for the Time. Change it there, not in the template.
Thanks, Mark. The best I could do is change it to black. The color chosen changes the time stamp in the blue header, as well as in the white footer - which unfortunately limits the avaiable choices.

Thank you. I appreciate the comments. To use with 3.7.1, just click the ignore style version. It will work fine.
I'll update my styles when releases are made that require template changes.
Same for 3.7.2? Also, would be awesome if the style had a sidebar (or is that just me, hehe) :)

Thanks, I like this one and am going to try it out on my new site!
I've been clicking around, the only thing I noticed is that you can not see the time in the welcome box.
The numbers are grey on blue.

Hello,
Would you be able to post or PM the color codes to match the google adsense setup when creating ads?
I like the ones you used, but google doesn't include them in the template code anymore for us to check.
Thanks!

Hello,
Attached is a thank you button contributed by K2Designs (http://k2ddesigns.com/).
Put it in your /curves/buttons/ folder.

my favorite style. Thanks for upgrading
Friends:
I have a strange thing happen. Members using IE7 are having difficulties as whenever they make a new post they are taken to the top of the page and have to scroll down.
When they use Quick reply, or another browser, and they post a reply, it goes directly to their post after the reply.
I set the width to fixed and upgraded to 3.7.3 but thats the only thing I've done.
well, tell them to use firefox instead;)
Allright, this isn't a solution, but it's a fix and you can even earn money with it.

What do you do for upgrades? Do you upload all the new files and reinstall the XML? do you need to install fresh and switch to the new style install? Sorry for a probably silly question but this is my first time doing an upgrade to a downloaded style. Thanks!

Simply import the new xml and overwrite the old style. Note that any changes you made to the style will have to be coded back in by you (ie: any mod you installed that required template edits... those edits will have to be made again.)

So you don't have to re-upload the style and can justre-import the XML file? TIA.

I'm having a minor issue with this skin.
I know it says its for 3.7.3, but I'm running 3.7.0. I've attached a screenshot of the issue. I've edited the .XML and file paths to reflect where the images are, but not all of them are loading.
Any ideas?

it's located here: curves/c1_02.jpg NOTE THE FILENAME, c1_02.jpg. PSD was included.

Its because you edited the paths incorrectly. I visited your forum and see that you didn't update the CSS paths. Go to your Main CSS, and make sure all image locations are correct since you moved everything to templates/stlouislan/ and didn't keep it in the curves directory.

I would like to say that this is a great style! Good work!
I just installed this one for my forums but i am wondering why the 'postbit' is on top of the post, instead on the left side as i can see from the demo.
Thank you for your answer.
Opss found it... silly me! Thanx again for the cool skin!

I have a strange white space line near the top of my style.
You can see an example here (http://www.emailquestions.com/showthread.php?t=165) between Help Desk and the Post Reply button.
Is there a template that I need to empty, or one that I should not be calling?

Hi..
I love this wonderful light skin. But there is one problem, similar to this one.
I am using vb 3.7.4, it works perfect in FireFox 2.0.0.16, but I don't see Profile Tabs under IE 7.0.6001.
Where should I check to fix this problem?
Shall I upgrade IE 8? or do I have to re-import the XML file.
doh!! problem.
TABS in PROFILE don't work in IE.
:( they sections just appear separately.
works fine in FF.

nice style
Very, very nice style.
I have a question though. If I want to upload a logo file wider than the specified 208 pixels, the background goes crazy. (The background seems to start from the position where it would start if the logo were normal size) What do I have to set in the templates to push the background image to the left?
EDIT: Figured it out myself.

Thank you, for the thanks button. As for ad code colors, I simply open my Main Css of the style, and use the color codes there for my adsense unit codes... that way, they all blend in nicely with the style.
Very nice skin.. loved the google ads made my job easier all i did changed the pub numbers etc

Has nothing to do with the style, other than if you have edited it for a modification, then perhaps that's producing the error.

I made a mistake. I reverted it and now the long line above the signature is gone. It is now replaced with the default line, which is a short one.
How can I bring it back without having to reinstall the template?
Thanks in advance.
Maybe this question has been asked before but do you port this over to vB 3.8? :)
This style has 7 templates, at least three of them should be different in 3.8.0.

Install the template again (but call it something different), then go to the template you reverted and copy from the newly installed template... then delete the new upload / temp theme. I don't know what your experience level is, but you could also open the xml and find the code there to replace it, but option one above is probably the easiest.

Thanks and hooray for the upcoming 3.8.0 version
Btw, in 3.7.5 forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost is out-of-date. Can I just click on edit and save?

I bypassed 3.7.5 and went right to 3.8 RC2 so I'm not 100% sure, but chances are, yes, just edit and save to get rid of the message. Should be fine particularly if you plan on going to 3.8 in the near future.
