Installation:

How do I install the Style?
1. Extract the zip files to a folder on your computer.
2. Upload the image folder "smoothred" to your forums root directory (ex: forum/smoothred).
3. Login to your Admincp in vBulletin and Click on "Style & Templates" to expand the menu.
4. In the expanded menu click on "Download / Upload Styles" , a new page will load.
5. In the new page look for: "Import Style XML File" click on browse and point it to the .xml file that you want to install
6. Press IMPORT to complete the installation




Extra Notes:

- PSDs of the Logo is provided for editing.
- PSD of Button included with ZIP.
- Style is Fluid in design. If you want fixed, just edit the width under the StyleVAR section..
- By using this skin, you agree not to remove the copyright located in the footer, nor the backlink to WrestlingClique.com.
- Please do not distribute this style. The only acceptable distribution method is through vBulletin.org.

NOTE: To Remove Advertisements, you simply go to the ADMINCP - > Style Manager - > Edit this styles templates - >
Revert all Ad location Templates to the default vBulletin value, or if you would like to use your own ads in place of the sample ads, edit each ad location template and replace the ad code with your own.

This style has two advertising areas that are not in the Ad Location Templates. One is in the FORUMHOME template, and the other in the HEADER template. Be sure to replace with your own code or other informational item.

Do to time constraints, I am unable to support this style. If time frees up in the future, I'll be back to make updates and help out. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you, I've changed the settings to show this is for RC1, however if you select ignore style version during upload, it will work just fine. When vb goes Gold next week, I will check and make the nessecary updates, if any are required. I don't believe there will be any code changes with the templates modified in this style that will not allow it to work error free on 3.7 Gold.

Also by request, if you want to remove the 468x60 banner ad in the header, edit the header template, and find the code below:

Hi Mark,

I was trying to delete a thread when using your skin and i get a strange error message:

"Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing or mismatched.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error"

If i change the skin to the default VBulletin skin or a different skin i hve in the server i am able tp delete the threads. (See Screenshot)

I would be happy to correct the issue if it is within the style, however if I can't duplicate it from my side on my forum, I'm lost as to the cause of the error.

You can try making any additional templates child styles of your default, but I think you will end up having problems if you do that. I believe you are going to have to manually add new templates to your new styles.

One small issue here. Both "collapse_tcat" and "collapse_tcat_collapsed" images are the same - a plus sign. Typically, the first one would be a minus.

Also just noticed that it doesnt round the corners in CMPS and would like to have it look like that. What do I need to change to make the corners round like the side bar in the forum index?

Changing the width in StyleVars to 980 will set this to a static width of 980 px. DO NOT include px in this setting. Just enter 980 and save. As for the corners in your CMPS, that would require custom coding of the CMPS block templates, since they probably use tcat / thead css, which is not rounded.

If you have installed this theme on 3.7 GOLD, you will be happy to know there are not code changes in the templates, therefore you do not have to upgrade this style. I will be uploading new packages for all my styles momentarily.

Kudos to you sir, this is a very sweet skin. I've had far more problems with a variety of commercial skins over the years.

The only thing so far that I can suggest is do something about the postcount and threadcount variables in the forumhome_forumbit_level2_nopost template. They are displayed in columns, which ruin the layout when you go a few forums deep under certain conditions.

Did you upload the smoothred folder to your public_html folder or your /forum folder. I can't see the style at your forum because there is no style selector, but my assumption is you need to move the smoothred directory under your /forum directory.

By the looks of it, try uploading the smoothred folder again skipping any files that exist on your server. Everything looks find but (as often happens to me) when uploading via ftp, sometimes it doesn't upload all the files or perhaps it timed out. If that doesn't do it, you can PM me with a temp login and I can look into it further. While I'm awaiting your response, I'll check your image directories to see if the missing images are in fact there.


EDIT: Found your problem. Sent you a PM. You uploaded the entire zip contents to the smoothred folder on your server. Follow the instructions I PMed you, and you'll be all set.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I visited the link and it looks fine. The only thing I see that is a problem is you have so many links in your navbar, that on a 1024px width monitor, visitors are probably getting a scroll bar left and right. If you can, please post a screenshot as to what you are seeing.

Nah, just had the style uploaded as it. The left side column was on top and then below it the rest of the forum. It wasn't a side-column but more of a giant, half-page header. LOL.

I'm having problems with 3.7.2; vBulletin's admin panel complains that I need to revert some elements. I did, and that messed it up (but when I had the style as it is now, I had links in the navbar that were not working).

Also, there is a difference between smoothred and the default theme regarding notifications. See the attached image with the notification drop box.

When I use the default theme on my forum the notification box is there. However, when using smoothred only the Private Messages is shown.

Is this happening to anyone else?

markbolyard - Any chance you'll post the source PSD file for this design? There is a button.psd file with this style but when I open it with Photoshop CS2, all I get is the Send PM button.

While I like the skin and have it installed, I had to edit it quite a bit to remove all that junk.

There are currently 3 customized template(s) that need to be updated or reverted. Some sections of vBulletin may not function if you do not do this!

Then it had a link to click on which brought me to a screen that said...

Literally, it reverts, or reverses changes made to the templates. The best thing to do is to just test it. You can import the style again under a different name and revert the templates, view it under that test style and see if there's any noticeable problems.

whats the easiest ways to add more categories to the side? I am trying to add a category under the advertisement area

I sort-off follow your instructions, so thanks for them, but my problem is, apart from not knowing what im doing, is...... where am i uploaded these files to..... where do i find my root folder or whatever it was called to upload info into too...

Hope you can help as this style is cool

Your forum root is the folder your forum is installed in. It's the same folder that has your admincp folder, your archive folder, clientscript folder etc. It's the folder your forum is installed in.

the Request: i know it may sound easy to some but man its driving me crazy

you know the white table (boarder) where the threads count and the replies counts go in the forumhome

its to long for no reason i mean shouldnt be at least fits the area of the threads count and the replies

i am trying to reduce that area but i dont know how ... my members have to scroll left right to brows the site because i have the moderater columne enabled

I have no clue of VB...and would like to now, how to add more boxes and functions to the left sidebar as for example

- a box with last posts
- a poll
- Users online (names of the users)

etc.

Because it's a custom style, you may have to manually make the template edits for those modifications. Check the installation instructions and threads for those modifications for the required template edits. If you installed this style after installing those mods, then there is a chance that there were template edits required that you simply have not made yet.

UGH! LOL! What if I remove the mods and add them back?

Because it's a custom style (ie: the navbar is in the header and not it's typical place), that would do no good. I am in the process of recoding all of my style released for 3.8 RC2, which I will try to implement as much of the auto link placement and such that some modifications make. The problem is, because the elements of this style are customized, those auto template edit features will use default vb styling, which will break the skin / cause it to look bad.

I have a few free moments. If you would like, I can add those mod template edits to your forum for you if you are unable to. Let me know via PM. It's not often I have a few spare minutes :)

This style is AWESOME!

I have a couple of issues yet... the nominate button shows up in extra areas... like PM's etc... and the mood mod doesn't work... and the Youtube mod (inserting it into a message.)

Is there something I need to change?
