I installed this and it is working very well thank you.
However, I am noticing alot of unused space. See the attached image for an example of what I an referring too.
Since the smilie box is no longer beside the message box. Is there a way to fill that space with the message box?
In the new location of the smilie box, the smilies do not fill the available space. Is there a way to make them fill the box provided for them?
You will need to edit the smilies settings in AdminCP to change number of smilies per row etc...
GOTO - AdminCP -> vBulletin Options -> Message Posting Interface Options.
You can then change how many smilies to show and the number per row. ;)

After installing this hack I am now running into a strange issue with the Downloads II add on. The editor for the comments shows the smilies as a horizontal line but it is NEXT to the message box instead of under it. :) You can see the problem here (as well as the attachment): http://www.forumapex.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=14
Any idea where to fix this? I have looked through all of the Downloads templates to no avail.

the mod you're talking about says this -
This will only work on styles with unedited editor templates. If your editor templates are modified then you will need to revert them to apply this change. To do this follow the steps below.
so that one has to be done and working first, before you make additonal edits. have you tried it in that order? to get helpful info, providing some details of what you're trying, what order, and what is happening will make it much easier for others to try and help.

yes, if your templates are modified from previous version than you do not need this one
I don't know why, but this is somehow tampers with the toolbar icons. If I disable it, the toolbar returns to normal mode as shown in the screenshot. It scales the 16x16 icons back to 21x20 default size.

This is one great mod, many thanks for releasing it!
One question: Is it possible to do the same for the downloadtopics in DownloadsII mod? My screen is stretching big time because thanks to this mod, I could display more smilies on a page. However, it is doing the same on downloadpages in the DownloadsII mod. Since it is still displayed right next to the quick reply box, the width of the page is enormous at the moment.
Please help me out. Many thanks in advance.

The product is great, but:
If anybody have vbadvanced and this plugin installed, and you have problems with the vbadvanced multipage feature you need to add the bold text to "Replace Templates - editor_smiliebox & editor_toolbar_on"
if ($toolbartype AND ($vbulletin->options['smtotal'] > 0 OR $vbulletin->options['wysiwyg_smtotal'] > 0) AND !defined('VBA_SCRIPT'))
{
// replace templates
$vbulletin->templatecache['editor_smiliebox'] = $vbulletin->templatecache['editor_smiliebox_GTSMILIEBOX_3700'];
$vbulletin->templatecache['editor_toolbar_on'] = $vbulletin->templatecache['editor_toolbar_on_GTSMILIEBOX_3700'];
}
This is to disable this hack into vbadvanced, until somebody find a real fix.
Thanks Brian (vbadvanced) for your support.

Ok I haven't tested this but I was running into problems this morning trying to add a Photoplog Gallery Insert button onto the Message Editor Toolbar. I use TMS so it's not that hard to add and remove modifications so I was playing around with it and for the life of me I couldn't get it to show up. It would show up on the Quickreply message editor toolbar but not the advanced message editor toolbar.
Well after about an hour of ripping my hair out, I remembered seeing that there was a GTSmiliebox editor template (editor_toolbar_on_GTSMILIEBOX_3700) separate from the editor_toolbar_on template.
Long story short, I think this mod takes priority over the original vBulletin editor_toolbar_on template with it's own and that's why you aren't seeing your PNG buttons from Wayne's Mod.
I downloaded Wayne's xml file just to see what it actually modifies and it is modifying the original editor_toolbar_on. Perhaps if you were to replace the line in his xml file that calls out the editor_toolbar_on template and use the editor_toolbar_on_GTSMILIEBOX_3700 template instead, it will show your PNG buttons?
In Wayne Luke's PNG Editor Buttons editor-png.xml file:
Find:
Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------
Replace with:
Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------
I haven't tested it and I could be totally off but I thought I would share what I found out this morning in the hopes that it could be helpful to you all having problems with the PNG buttons.
Thanks,
E.

Hi
i am having problem calculating the form width. I don't know how to put this Message box in the centre of the page. I looked at the 8 pages and only one person had the same problem but he found the answer but never mentioned how he succeeded. I looked at the form width and other threads mentioned in the first post but i am still unable to sort out this problem
Please look at the picture and guide me how do i put this dialogue/message box in the centre on the page. It is going on the right side

The form width is controlled by your Stylevars in your Style Manager.

This mod won't work with http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=266499&highlight=vbmail
Anyone please help!
There already is one for vB4.
Please can someone post a link to this, if there really is a vb4 version?
I have found this -

- but it's more than I need, and I'd rather not be editing original Vbulletin files if I can help it.

Yes, it comes up if you do a Titles Only search. The link you posted isn't the same thing as this modification. That's a plugin to modify Quick Reply. This moves smilies location in the main editor, which that modification you posted doesn't affect at all.
Actually, it does include a 'smiliebox below editor' option in amongst all the rest (you can find it with ctrl+f), but I agree absolutely it's not the same thing!
Here's a pure and simple 'smiliebox below editor' for version 4:
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=229650
This will move the smiliebox on reply to thread, though not for other editors, such as 'edit signature' - and apparently (according to one of my users) the smilies aren't clickable in Mac/Safari. So it doesn't reproduce GTsmiliebox perfectly, but it's still a great thing to find.

That's the fundamental difference, though. This moves smilies in the main editor, while that one moves smilies in quick reply. I'm not familiar with Lynn's, but I've always edited vB3 manually, myself. I had this installed for a while, until I became more comfortable with editing templates. I think in the case of moving smileys, while not necessarily true of other template edits, it's probably the better option.

Huh... oh, yes, see what you mean. (I have a forehead-slapping smilie in my forum - missing it here...)
Anyway, I'm not remotely comfortable editing templates. Lots of good karma for the writers of add-ons.
