I had this idea for a while but never made the thread, it will probably bury anyway. After seeing someone at .com make something similar I want to ask the question.

State 3 forum boards you like/are inspired by/love the design/love the content/love the concept

YOU CANNOT LIST YOUR OWN - there are plenty of boards better than mine, and certainly many MOST likely better than yours. So give props to others for what they've done or what you like.

State why you chose those 3 boards.

(( using 3 so you don't have to list your top 10 or 20 :p ))

http://www.twcenter.net/forums/index.php - I emailed the owner of this site, probably never letting him know how much I respect there work. I don't even know what the forum is about, but I love there post bit in there Old Medeival style, they put the name, this colorful image and the user rank all on this bar and it just looks awesome. They also somehow did unique reputation ranks for each style...I don't know how but I'm impressed.

http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/office-management/ - first reaction is probably "what?". But these people have some unique coding as well. I'm not sure if the quote button just doesn't work, or if there is something else being done. But in certain threads you'll see "users commented on this post" and instead of searching through the thread for those quoted posts, you see within your own post who commented and what they said. I like that kind of personal interaction without having to sift through 8 posts quoting my own.

http://www.koww.net/ - those with slow connections or out of date pc's won't like this one, but of all the forums I've viewed clicking peoples sigs and just browsing, this one stood out huge. It's just so unique, so different. I mean I don't even know the game it's about, but man just viewing the forum makes we want to play it. lolz Flash is impressive it also can be annoying if overdone, or non-stop but if there is a way to use flash as a good first impression, and then the option to turn off flash displays and intro's after joining, then I think you've got a winner.

Anyways, those are my 3, anyone?

I get inspiration from everywhere.............then I put it on Australian TV............one of many things I like about you Nex..............you write yourself..........which amounts to a lot less writing I have to do myself :p.

Merci ma muse ;).

Well, listing just 3 is rather difficult, since there are a few others who all deserve first place by me.

All these I nominate for the same reason, because they’re simply beautiful, and are/will be a real inspiration for my current/upcoming forum layout and design.

http://www.atcards.com
http://www.communityofsweden.com
http://www.digart.pl

I’m afraid just one of them is, or was actually build around vBulletin.

Some of the others I do have to list if that’s ok :)

Not really sure if it matters, but most of them really spend some time on their forumhome, memberprofile page, and complete and renewed set of icons (ie. the /misc folder is often forgotten when creating a new style)

I'm relatively new so I don't know many of the boards. But I'll second the badgirljammieclub.

Ack, my three nominations disappeared. Here we go again:

http://www.ayyas.com (lots of man hours had to have gone into that one; the idea doing a vB theme which eliminated all tables always appealed to me).

http://www.sherdog.net/forums/ (for you MMA fans...and the community attracts the attention of some of the biggest names in the business).

http://htmlforums.com (I've always liked the look of this one...it was a big inspiration to me back when I first started designing vB themes).

There again. :)
