View Full Version : Desert Green 3.8

Desert Green is a light green skin designed to be easy on the viewer's eyes. Most themes are usually blue here, so I decided to make a green one. The theme has been updated from v3.7 with better blending of pastel greens to reduce the brightness, so I hope you like the new look. :)

A screenshot is attached for your viewing pleasure, but the theme would be better appreciated by viewing it here...

(Please be sure to mark INSTALLED if you use this style)

Note: For those of you using the [AJAX] Post Thank You Hack (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=165673), a "Thanks" button is included. :D

Version History:
Updated to 3.8 Beta 4
Updated to 3.8 Release Candidate 1
Updated to 3.8 Final

Download the V3 VBulletin graphics set from the Member's area (http://members.vbulletin.com/membersupport.php) over at www.vbulletin.com (http://www.vbulletin.com), and change the layer named "color" inside the PSD file to #3E4637. You can make as many buttons as you wish. Have fun!

Note: The latest update changes the folder for smilies and breaks the links.

To fix this, if not already installed, delete line 54. If already installed, change line 54 in the XML file to read as follows:

Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.

Will this skin be updated for 3.8.1?

It doesn't need to be updated. If it worked in 3.8, it works in 3.81.

This is the message.

This file was created using a different version of vBulletin from the one you are running.

Few posto above it says change the layer named "color" inside the PSD file to #92a282

@ iforce

I sent you a PM :)

Also, and for the record, the color is #3E4637, and not #92a282. I corrected this in my original post. :)

I'm having an issue where the default board theme is either the Desert Green or Desert Sand. When a new user tries to register with the forum, after they click the check box to confirm they read the rules then click enter, they receive "You have not filled in all the required fields." Do you have any idea what is causing this issue? The vbulletin default theme works fine. Thanks for your help!!

PM sent, THANKS!!
Hey tankkiller,

I uploaded a new version of the style. Simply delete the current green style, and reinstall the XML. If you are still having issues, I would reinstall or disable any mods you may have recently added, as this may be causing the issue. I tested this theme on my "clean" test site, and it is not having any of the issues you are experiencing.

Good luck! :)

I really do like this skin, but I have a concern with it. With all of the subcategories (and the re-inclusion of things like the terrible vB default smilies and post icons) is it going to overwrite things like the custom emotes and thread icons I am currently using on my forum?

Here's the link for example purposes:
http://forums.gatoraids.com/index.php

I like the skin we have right now, although it's incompatible with vBulletin 3.8 and many users are experiencing a "security token" error/problem at random, so we are out to replace the skin with a better one that also works. I would like to use yours if it would work on my forums, but I don't want to have it replace all of our emoticons and icons.

(PS: The fact that your name is Gator is hilarious in an incredibly coincedential way.)

One question, will this theme also work with 3.7.6 ? Or especially that Desert Sand Version of it. I would love to use that on my Site.
