I have 3 Hard drives:
OS (C:) - 11.8GB Free of 99.1GB
RECOVERY (D:) 6.05GB Free of 9.99GB
LOCAL DISK (F:) 413GB Free of 465GB
My C drive is obviously my main drive, the recovery is..i dont know it was there when i got the laptop and the F Driver is an external. (Maxtor)
What i want to know can i install the Windows 7 on the External Hard Drive (F) and when i boot up my PC i can select between the 2.
But in the F Drive is like games and other stuff, and theres about 10 folders in there.
How would i go about installing Windows 7 and if i can and install it on my external will that effect anything to do with my cdrive?
If i do download it i will be downloading the 64bit version as ive looked to see and my laptop is capable.
what type and size of disk will i need?
Thankyou
just install to f drive m8 and when u boot up it will say
Boot Win7 or there will be an option to go to Older Windows
This way u can have both OS on your system.
I have done exactly what u are about to do as drive C: was my main drive but for win7 i just installed to Drive E :
It wont affect anything at all on your c : Drive as from boot up you can simpy choose which OS u want to use.

Ok Thankyou,
I currently have 15 Files in there with subs and stuff, and then an autorun and the maxtor icon, in the auto run is:
Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------
So i just burn it to a disk and pop it in my drive and choose to install it directly on the F Drive?
How big of disc and what type of disc will i need? (UK)

The file needs to be burned as an ISO file. Anything else and you've wasted a DVD. ;)

Any DVD medium will do. They are all pretty much the same anyway, just like any commodity item.

How the hell do you install it to an extnernal?
It keeps saying that Setup cant install to a USB device..
I already Partitioned and tried NTFS and FAT32 but none work..
