The Faceoff Boards - Hockey Forums

Yep, every now and then I up this site up for opinions, whenever I make a drastic change really.

The style of the site is based off the vBSEO theme found here (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=215963). Its been designed the way it as to integrate with the matching blog (http://faceoffcircle.net/) we're reviving.

Basically, I redid the style, cleaned up the tabs, and removed a lot of useless add-ons. Next step is getting the community back to life again - we've had a dull few months :p

Not bad, I like the tabbed forums bit.

Perhaps had a welcome header or change something to let people know what the forum. Not knowing anything about hockey, it toke me a few seconds to hit me.

Also, maybe tell people if it is a team forum, local forum etc.

Very good idea...reminded me I haven't installed welcome headers :P Thanks.

To be quite honest, it doesn't feel like a hockey forum. The theme, the header, everything doesn't make me think of hockey and is a turn off.

Well what would? Unless you want obtrusive and ugly graphics everywhere, I don't see how you can really give it the feel, to be honest.

Well that header isn't a bad start, nice and clean.. But what about matching colors? All that blue is extremely unnecessary.

You can also work on your status icons and other images to resemble hockey a bit more.

The tabbed forums by league is nice. Some added color maybe?? I think the colors and graphics is all about personal preference. I don't know anything about hockey, so I would need something to get me interested...
