Description: Shows spiders in the "What's Going On" section. (X Members, X Guests, X Spiders)
(see attached images)

Demo: http://www.worldslargestforum.com/forum/

Works in all vbulletin 3.8 and 4.0 versions (Other versions have not been tested)

Install Instructions:

1. AdminCP=>Plugins & Products=> Manage Products=>[Add/Import Product]=> product-spidersinwgo.xml

2. AdminCP=>vBulletin Options => Who's Online Options => Enable Spider Display => Yes

You can get the latest spider list from http://www.wolfshead-solutions.com/spiders-list and put it in your YOURFORUM/includes/xml/ folder. You'll need to replace the old "spiders_vbulletin.xml" file.

A couple of things.

First, is this normal? I see that there is one spider, but the name of the spider is not there.

I'm guessing that it has something to do with your spiders.xml list. I looked on your forum and it seems to be working correctly now.

I am unsure at the moment why a few of you are getting this error similar to this. It may be conflicting with another plugin you have installed maybe? Try disabling all other plugins to see if that is the issue.

I'm guessing it's because there's an issue with your vbulletin_spiders.xml list. Did you download the latest spider list(http://spiderlist.codeforgers.com/list.php) and replace it with vb's default spiders list?

QUESTION:

Does it deduct X guests from guests and instead adds it to spiders?

Example: I have 2 members and 4 guests. 2 of those guests are spiders.
Does it display it like this? 2 members, 2 guests and 2 spiders or...
2 members 4 guests 2 spiders

Which one?

Im having the same problem as iCafe it chages all guests to spiders and dosnt list names just a number the same as the amount of guests, any ideas??

I do have the latest list in place also.

Actually, your issue is different than icafe's. His are showing the spider and guest number correctly just not the name of the spider. Yours is making all guests spiders :(
I'll need to know more information to help you guys out. What's the link to your forum etc...

My forum is closed at the moment so you wont be able to see it as im rebuilding the whole thing, what do you need to know ? ill gladly tell you.

Try disabling all other plugins etc. What are you running? Since you say rebuilding. I'm going to guess vb4?

The code is really short. Surely it can't be that demanding to add an additional word (spiders) to the front page of the forum. I guess it all depends... if you have 100 bots crawling your site at the same time, i suppose there is an additional 100 words to add. So i guess the answer to that question varies :confused:

It seems this modification is showing incorrect statistics!
I am logged into my site, and it shows 7 users online, 1 members 6 spiders and 6 guests.

I log out and it shows 7 users online 0 members 7 spiders and 7 guests.

Apperently this mod doesn't actually notice who is not a spider and who is a spider, anyone else have this issue too?

We're having the same issue as some others with the spider names not showing up.

Currently Active Users

There are currently 5 users online. 2 members and 0 guests and 3 spiders

Most users ever online was 39, 02-05-2010 at 10:02 PM.

Running vBulletin CMS 4.0.1 with the following hacks:
BBR - Google Analytics Addon, BBR - Resize Images with lytebox v3.22, DownloadsII, GamerCards in User Profile & Postbit, Point Market, Post Thank You Hack, Spiders in WGO, uCash, vbStopForumSpam, vBulletin Blog, vBulletin CMS

Disabled all hacks one by one (except the 2 vB ones) and no change in status of the bot listing.

Are there any specific server-side packages that need to be installed for this to work? Maybe it requires to have Curl installed for instance?

EDIT: Just for the hell of it I switched the datastore from Memcached back to Filecache and that had no effect.

Hi guys sorry I haven't been keeping up with this thread. Please note that whenever VB releases a new version or patch you will need to re-update the spiders-list. Re-update as in download here (http://spiderlist.codeforgers.com/list.php) and re-upload the file. As for the problems you guys are having when encountering guests being marked as spiders etc, I'm not sure why this would be happening without making sure you've uploaded everything correctly in the proper folders etc.

I am a little late in seeing this Mod but I do like it as a new site I want to actually see the spider views over real guests and get a realistic idea how many guests are on.

I noticed that it was counting bots but it was not showing the name in the Who's online section just the count so I would get

Cezz, Mo0o0oh, FallenAngel, (4), (2), , , all the blanks/numbers being bots but the names not showing :S... I have downloaded and uploaded the latest XML file is there something else I need to do to make the names start appearing?

EDIT: I checked the XML I'm using with the one on your website and they are exactly the same. The only difference is the directory structure (yours is in <HOME>/forum/includes/xml, while mine is in <HOME>/includes/xml), which should be ok because my forum home is the root of my website.

OK, I found what the problem is...

To everybody experiencing the problem, please go to your AdminCP, Who's Online Options, and for the Enable Spider Display select YES!!!

Save and voila, problem solved.

Perhaps this should be included in the instructions on the initial post.

BTW, are you considering a future version? If so, it would be nice to see the right data here too: http://www.boricuagaming.com/online.php

I'm happy with the mod showing the spiders on the Forum Home page, just wanted to throw it in case you are looking to add new function in the future.

I have it installed, same as a lot of folks, all guest are showing up as spiders and no names. tried fix that kasht mentioned and no change. I'm going to sleep on it and see if it "fixes itself" by morning ;) if not, sadly going to have to uninstall.

Worked out the spiders names not showing it is an easy fix but it works really well -_-

Go to vBulletin Options => Who's Online Options => Enable Spider Display => Yes Save that, make sure you spider.xml is up to date and install this mod and then everything works.

As for guests showing as bots, this is not happening for me though I have to admit that sometimes I have hundreds of bots and hardly any guests myself and wish it was a bug but checking IP's etc they are indeed bots.

argothiusz, you must have missed something somewhere as this hack DOES work, for the most part. Although, I do not use it, as I have my own, I did test it and it did work. Did you make sure to get an updated spiders_vbulletin.xml, or are you using the default one that comes with vb?

i have install this product, but ever since i install it, there was no more guest. i did a test but i think even guest was in the spider list. and no name for the spider. what should i do?

I think it also includes counting the guests... I tried opening 3-4 windows... and it shows 3 spiders... and admin...

Just a thought.. I cant verify yet i still dont have people nor spider crawling the site.. 2days old site.. lol..

Hi, after upgrading to vb 4.1.2 if you have the option ticked to view members online on your home page (so user names show Currently Active Users like the picture in the post above) this plugin breaks it if any spiders come online on your site, and it won't show any ser names or spiders on your forum home page

I had to uninstall this. It does not work with 4.1.2.

No member names show up in the whos online section.

you need to uninstall that aswell to get the users online to show because that also isn't working on 4.1.2

Is this mod really supported by the coder?

I see many complains about the bug which appeared in the last vBulletin version but no replies from the coder at all. Could anybody provide instructions how to upgrade this mod manually to be 4.1.2 version compatible?

if anyone interested , i have this mod working in my 4.1.3!
Simply go into the plugin manager, find : Spiders in WGO(Forum Home Complete)

and in the script, replace the $activeusers .= $lname; with : $activeusers2 .= $lname;

Should work fine ;)

I've got a problem: this product works very well if there aren't any spiders who ar visiting the forum, but if there is at leas 1 bot the users online doesn't appairs in "who are visiting the forum"...
