Any chance to allow us to make a list of possibly posted comments and it just randomly chooses one from the list?

In the plugin try replacing with:
Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------
Please let me know how this worked out for you.

Any chance to make it an editable field from within the admincp? I am testing the above now, will let you know how it goes in a sec. Thanks.

I am looking to it right now. I was going to just have it in the same box and every new line gives it another option. Problem being It will not work if you want a comment that has an enter in it.
I do not think what I posted above will work now that I am testing. Seems that array_rand picks the key rather than the value.
Will update you in a bit.

Yeah it didn't work, it just posted the number 3.
Yeah I was thinking something like that too, how about after every ; it will be another entry. (or something along those lines)

Thanks! Testing this version out now. Will update this post on how it goes.
Update: It works except it is not randomly choosing a different comment each time. 3 out of 3 times it picked the last of my 3 comments.
This is my comment bank:

Maybe it randomly chose the last three each time? Try adding a few more.

^^ I stand corrected. On the 5th or 6th time it changed. Didn't think my odds were that bad to keep getting the same one lol.
Thanks!

So it is confirmed working?
Thanks for vb4 version.
Will this version upgrade the http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=171535 or should we remove old 3.8 version?

Hello great mod (Nominated and Installed)!
I have a silly question though (forgive me Im a computer newb). My default message is:
-------------------------------------------------------
Hello {username},
Welcome to {sitename} ({siteurl})!;
Please take a look around and explore all the features the site has to offer.
I hope you enjoy your stay here.
Best Regards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I basically took your default message and added some stuff underneath. However when I test it, the top two lines don't show (lines 1-2), just the message I wrote (lines 3-5). Was I supposed to edit something? Thanks in advance.
Edit: Oops I figured it out, I left the semicolon in there :) Thanks for this great mod though!

I do not know what is not working correctly by looking at your screenshot.
Telling me that "It does not work" does not help at all.

does anybody know if this works with 4.05 ?
Works great, even under newer 4.0.x releases.
KURTZ has just placed the semicolons at the wrong positions, but that has been mentioned before.

I've highlighted the problem with your message, semicolons is whats being used to separate between messages for those that choose to make multiple variation for their forums. If you remove these semicolons your message will function as intended.
EDIT: the red doesn't seem to stand out as much as I had hoped, but its the ; after your sitename thats causing the issue, the mod see's that as you attempting to start another version of your message.
Installed but no options in Options to configure running 4.1.11

Love this mod
Just installed on my 4.1.11 and it works just fine. Options show up under "Automatic Profile Commenter" under the settings menu. If this option has not shown up you may want to redownload the mod and try uploading it again.
It should also be noted that this script only seems to post messages when the registration form has been completed. I am unsure but it may bug out if you require email verification, I'll have to do some checking on that later. However the important thing to note is that if you Admin Register a user, they will not receive a Automated Visitor Message. So please do not test functionality this way on your forums, you need to log out and register a new user from scratch to check functionality. I can confirm it worked as of today on 4.1.11. If its not working for you another mod might be conflicting with it.

Thank you very much for taking time to answer my question Keldaria,
I have done a reupload and what you said is right,
This is a great mod, I use this mod to welcome new members and provide a link for them straight to compose a new thread that posts to the Introduction forum and it has been very successful and is a great way to get first posts, which is sometimes hard to achieve
Thanks again:)
Could we have the version number added to the mod so when we check from within the forum using the "check version hack" http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=255054 we are able to see if updates have taken place please?
As for the mod its self. Cant fault it.
Thankyou.
