/con/con vBulletin abuse

Some users at my board decided to put /con/con within the img tag and it was crashing some of the users computers.

This is easily sorted.

I had to add it to a text file as vBulletin was changing some of the replacements and wasn't liking it.

Look at one of the posts further down.

This stops people abusing it :)

Forgive my ignorance, but what does /con/con do? Why wold it crash VB?

you get Blue Screen of Death.

if you want to test
go to start > run
and type /con/con

This is just really to stop anyone abusing it and crashing a forum members computers.

Microsoft are stupid :P

they have a patch for all windows 9x users on the site.

its not in ME, NT, XP or 2k

I believe people can use /null/null too

so i will modify the top post with the /null/null code added

Basically you can use any 3 letter DOS device to the same effect. Don't ya just love Microsoft products :D

Do you have HTML enabled? If not, I don't see how this could crash any computers.

Yeah HTML has to be one for the con to work or null

If you have IMG bbcode enabled it will also work.
