Which forum would I post a question asking about adsense/ad placement on my site?

If it's about the default Advertising system, then you probably should post over on vb.com. If it's about modifying the code, then either in vB3 General Discussions (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=111) or vB4 General Discussions (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=251)

It's just a straight question on the best placement on my site. That should go to .com, correct?

Questions regarding the default functionality should go on vb.com, but we won't hurt you if you ask here. Just make sure you post in the correct forum for your version - vB3 or vB4.

There's actually a few articles on .org regarding adsense placement - http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=107965 is one of my favorites - it was written for vB 3.x series - but I'm sure similar (if not exact) placements on a vB 4.x board would work well for you.
