View Full Version : WBB to vB Converter?
30 Mar 2002, 20:39
I am an admin of a website that wants to purchase vB, but with 1 problem.. the webmaster wants to keep the existing users and posts from Burning Board, but there seems to be no converter available so I asked on vBulletin.com support forums, and was told to ask if someone could write a hack here, can anyone take the challenge?

Clanstarus, please go to this (http://www.vbulletin.com/members/vbulletin.org.php) page and enter your username, to show you are licensed. (you will need to use your customer number and password to access that page)
Once you've done that, go to vbulletin.com and read the Announcement for version 2.2.5. You'll need to download the latest version and read the upgrade instructions.

Yes, me too. I have one wbb that I'm thinking of getting a vb instead. That's all nice but a converter would be really nice.

Hi I currently use a wbb and now that it will no longer remain free in the future I plan on upgrading to a VB if possible. I was just wondering if you knew about the status of a convertor for this product. Will there be one in the future? If so do you happen to know how long it will be?
I'm not telling you to make one, I'm just curious about the status of one. :)

To my knowledge no one is working on an official WBB importer at this time. All energy is going into preparing vB 3.0 for relaese. Perhaps once that's done they can work on the importers. However I'm sure the first order of business will be to recode the existing importers. After that, they'll decide on other scripts based on overall demand.
I read in another post that there is already one made but it's in German. I don't speak German so would it be possible for somebody to translate it?
You'd be helping alot of people out. :)

I'm afraid I don't have a direct link to it but I got the info that one existed from this thread.
