I know this isn't vb specific, but it will set you forums apart. I made a favicon. It's a 16 x 16 icon, 16 color limit, and uploaded it to my main directory. Now anytime anyone views or bookmarks my forum, or any other page (and they are using IE 5.0 or higher) this icon will appear in both the address bar and in their list of favorites.
16 x 16 is very small, and 16 colors is not real high resolution, but you can kind of set your page apart some so that it does get noticed in their list of bookmarks. So far the response has been really good, and I just wanted to let you folks know. :)
It won't let me attach an icon, so you can follow this link if you'd like to see the vb.org one I made.

You can make it all 256 colours as well, but the idea is good. I was thinking a lond time ago about it.

Nice - did you use a proper icon creator to make it?

No I used MicroAngelo. I just figured one more edge to have your site come up would be a good thing. :)

Well unless you use a proper icon creator then the icon never works ;)

MicroAngelo has an icon creating program. It's in the new package. :)

You create an icon, name it favicon.ico . Upload that icon to your main directory. Anyone who uses IE 5.0 or better who bookmarks any part of your site, or who simply views it will seethe icon appear both in the address bar, as well as next to the bookmark in their favorites folder. It just sets your forum out a little bit. (Go to Yahoo and you'll see that they have the big red Y, same thing)

I don't have an icon creator. Could you make that into an icon for me and post it on here?

Thanks! I appreciate it!

Check your email. You should now have the direct URL so you can pick it up. :)

I don't see it in my email...Hopefully I get it sometime later?

Thanks anyway though!
