Ergh. Forgot one step.

Open includes/functions:
GO TO END BEFORE ?> AND ADD

Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------

You can call this add on any page by doing:

Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------

and the referring to the field values of the database by $sponsors[id], $sponsors[sponsor], $sponsors[www], $sponsors[logo], $sponsors[clicks].

Hope that helps

Okay no problem. ;) I understand but I could use people to beta test and let me know if theres problems - not to mention additional features that other admins might want but I haven't considered because I don't need them.

At any rate, beta3 is now live and updated. New feature for this release is tying the ads rotation in with the cron system to allow Admin to designate duration of time for each featured ad.

Getting this error when trying to delete any ideas Could not find ads_sponsors with ads_sponsorsid = 1.

That id of number 1 should be in your database ads_sponsors table. If you want me to look, pm me your server/mysql info....

This looks great, any goetargeting planned?

No, I don't see a purpose for geotargetting in this hack. Maybe you have an idea I haven't thought of though?

Can you limit this to which usergroups see the ad and which ones do not? If so, I would definatly use this.

Insane,

Feel free to modify it. I might do that later, but I'm not feeling it right now. :)

Awesome!!

Here are some features that I think it would be really beneficial:

1. Capability to tie the advertisement to a user, so for example user1 wants me to advertise his site, then in the Admin CP, I add the Ad Name, URL, picture and User1. Then User1 can see in his own User CP, how many clicks his advertisement has had.

2. In addition, it would be beneficial to have a field for charges, so say that I charge user1 $10 per month to advertise, then every month, few days in advanced, the user is either PM, emailed or both with an invoice or a link to cancel advertisement.

3. Category field -> that way one can specify what category is show on which page

4. Minimum and Maximum impressions -> a way to define amount of impressions that will be done for the Ad. This way, this way the system can stop showing certain images when the maximum is reached and this way allow other images to be shown more often.

5. Random Generator Ads. It will need to be programmed taken into consideration #3 and #4 above.

Insane's idea sound really good too!

Hope this helps,

Gladys

No, I don't see a purpose for geotargetting in this hack. Maybe you have an idea I haven't thought of though? Regional advertising for businesses who aren't national. :nervous:
