My vb3 forum has grown too large for Lunarpages weak ass hosting and they've moved me to a temporary server and I have 7 days to leave! I need an extremely reliable, fast host with cpanel, and can pay up to $60 a month. I'd like a host that is not reselling, does not oversell, and has 24/7 on site support. I need atleast 1500gig storage and 70gigish data transfer to allow for growth. I'd like to hear from people with vbsites supporting 3,000+ users, high traffic, and are extremely happy with their hosting. Uptime is key for my site. Thanks so much for any advice!

.. and you expect to get those specs for $60?

well, I had those specs on lunarpages for $22 a month, but they canned me saying I was using too much cpu. I'm not sure what to do really. Risk another shared host telling me I use too much cpu, or go with a dedicated server and break the bank :(

1500gig storage and 70gigish data transfer to allow for growth.

You sure you don't have those numbers backward?

If so you can try www.servermatrix.com if you can muster enough for a good down payment you can get a great monthly rate. Check them out at www.webhostingtalk.com or just visit thier forums and ask around.

lol sorry 1.5 gig data 70gb transfer. I'm thinking about going with realwebhost.net semi-dedicated package, 89 a month, i hear good things about them. guess i'll have to take the plunge to find out..

well i've gone with the realwebhost.net package, semi-dedicated hosting. fingers crossed. So far so good, their owner is pulling over my cpanel backup to make the trasition pretty easy..

Check out http://anywherehost.com/. Their E-commerce package on the right has 60G transfer and 1400MB storage for $10.95. I just put up a forum Ask Me Help Desk (http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/forum/) that I'm working on converting from YaBB Gold right now.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot... Lunarpages sucks! (They banned a couple of my sites even though I was within their parameters.)

For $99.00 a month you could get a dedicated server and make up the money by hosting a few sites for your buddies.

There are stories all over the place about Lunarpages not liking forums being hosted on their servers.

Lunar pages i think is aimed at providing static content, more than php / mysql based systems.

They should then say that they don't provide hosting for php/mysql sites.

In a utopian world they probably would, but web hosting is an over saturated market, some webhosts will do anything to get your business.
