Well, title does say it all, so who already does have upgraded?

I just finished the 3.0.5 upgrade on my testserver - LOL.

Could it be that holidays are the reason why so many security vulnerbilities are being discovered at the moment?

Xenon

You mean a lot of people were bored on x-mas and tried to find security holes?

we should get rid of x-mas ^^

Seems like everytime I get my production forums upgraded to the latest version another one comes out . . . I just upgraded my test forums to 3.0.6 but still need to transfer over the file edits to see if all my hacks work.

I guess it's a good thing though because they are staying ahead of the hackers - I'd much rather upgrade my site a couple times a month rather that have it destroyed because of a security loophole.

Meh - Currently, it's either University, Work or Sleep :ermm:

I'm trying to get more permanent hours:

I currently work (permanently):

Wednesday : 6pm - 10pm
Friday : 6pm - 10pm
Sunday : 8am - 5pm / 9am - 6pm

What I worked last week:

Monday: 2pm - 10pm
Wednesday : 4pm - 10pm
Thursday : 12pm - 4pm
Friday : 6pm - 10pm
Sunday : 9am - 7pm

What I want to work on a permanent basis (before Overtime):

Monday : 10am - 5pm
Wednesday : 6pm - 10pm
Thursday : 10am - 5pm
Friday : 6pm - 10pm
Sunday : 8am - 6pm / 9am - 7pm

That would be (without lunch deductions) 32 hours a week - On Sundays, I get 1 hour lunch (which I don't get paid for >_< lol) and on Monday and Thursday I'd get half an hour, so... 30 hours of paid work per week - Not bad :D

Oh, and for pay purposes: I currently earn 4.85 per hour, Monday - Saturday, and 7.28 per hour on Sundays - When I do our "review", I get a pay rise of 7p on the basic rate, so 4.92 per hour Monday - Saturday, and 7.38 per hour on Sundays : This makes a 30 hour week, at the pay-rise rate (which will be like a week's time);

21 hours @ 4.92/hour = 103.32
9 hours @ 7.38/hour = 66.42
Total = 169.74

So, say, 170 a week - Not bad, when you think that 4 times that = 678.96 (exactly) and 680 roughly :D:D

Add on to that the 17 hours a Week I spend in Uni, that makes pretty much for a full schedule, when you factor in travel time, eating, sleeping...

I hope to get around here more and start my way back into more vB Hacks/Mods, but for now, I've gotta sort my schedule out :p

*grinds teeth*

Oh well, I'll just have to set aside another weekend for another upgrade.. I've only just upgraded to 3.0.5 with my live forum. Hopefully this'll be it now up until 3.1.0, I can hope.

Great job to the devs though for trying to keep us secure and bug free.

It's good that they're patching up security holes, but in honesty, it's becoming a joke now. What is it, 2 or 3 upgrades in two weeks!? I have few modifications on my board, but they are very advanced modifications which require a lot of file editing, etc. This is not fun, at all.

Looks like I'm pulling an all niter again and upgrading the boards. Security is paramount, afterall.

Upgrading as we speak. Will post again when completed. Not just when it's working but when all the hacks have been applied and everything is working 100% again.

Okay I finished. It would have been quicker, I admit but I had to stop for tea and to talk to Kirby etc :) I am havign a few problems wit uShop working a it used to, and also with the PayPal>uCash script I have. I'll figure it out!

Live upgrade completed already, I am becoming a dab hand at this lately for some reason.

Give it four more minor 3.0.x versions and I should know the file edits for my hacks off by heart without needing the instructions.....

Could it be that holidays are the reason why so many security vulnerbilities are being discovered at the moment?

actually i belieave it is because of holidays, spring break, and summer. Its the exact sameway on video games that is online. Its horrible on how many glitchers (mostly kids) are on during those times but any time during school its almost a rare find except those ignorent parents who let their 5year old play a killing game. but their are barely any during the times when theirs no vacation except weekends.

Its the samething for vb but I find it more into a low life position to sit down all day on the computer and try to find a tiny hole which is pretty much pathectic and really needs a life.

That's why I have only patched what needed to be patched and holding out for the next big release. Way too many hacks to re-do and I would have put my fist through the monitor if I would of did those hacks several times over.

I understand its for our benefits that there are upgrades... but are we expecting a 3.0.7 next week? lolI have around 20 hacks installed too and upgrading only took me about.. 40 minutes. That includes uploading the new vB files, and re-editing all the file edits required for hacks.

Seriously guys, I don't see why this is such a big deal.. Those not upgrading are at risk for being hacked, which if it does happen, will be a much longer/aggrevating process than taking 40 minutes out of your time to upgrade..

I, for one, enjoy upgrading.. And I'm glad we keep getting releases like this cause I feel I'm getting my moneys worth now.. :)

Dude, don't re-edit the files. Use a file compare program - you can upgrade in 15 minutes max. No need to keep track of your hacks at all.

Exactly. :) But it's the nature of software. Coders can't think of everything or test everything - a security patch needs to be released ASAP. It's like PHP 4.3.10 - fixes 1 security bug but created another bug.
