An updated version of my old hack done via plug-ins. Basicly, you stick a user in the 404 usergroup and they see 404 errors on every page.

Thankyou for this, very useful, it's like a not so horrible miserable users hack :p

Bad news:

Unknown column 'pmpermissions_bak' in 'field list'

When executing the query :p

I will just make the usergroup manually instead...

Yes, but i think the point is that it makes the person think your site has gone down so they don't bother re-registering to spam your ass like the little ++++ers they are.

Run that instead.

Edit: Nevermind doesn't work I'll fix it in a few moments...

What worked for me:

Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------

EDIT: Note: I modifed the discription of the usergroup, but it's not important.

Hmm. I forgot the code, but shouldn't this be modified to check if the member's secondary usergroup is the 404 one?

I do not like the usergroupid being set to '404'. When I add subsequent usergroups their id starts from 405. eg, 405, 406, etc.

Also, as per the more recent 404 Ban hack, on Firefox it just shows a blank page. I would imagine it works on IE.
