Strange, it translates $DB to $db, try changing this line:

Code:

Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.

To:

If the Station has a http://www.radio-locator.com/images/zap.gif beside it, click on http://www.radio-locator.com/images/more_info.gif and get the Audio Feed URL.

Hi there!!
First time vBRadio user!!
Love the Plugin!!

One note ... and take it with a grain of salt cause I'm still an amateur ... but I couldn't get this to install until I went into phpmyadmin and created a new field called 'product' under 'template'. The mysql error was quite long and referred to how this field wasn't present, so I gave it the ole college try and made one setting it as VARCHAR(30) as a wild guess (from looking at version field).

Then I ran the install again and she works peachy!!

I'm running vb3.5.0 beta 2 on a forum that has been running for years, taking each 3.0.x upgrade and it's never had this filed in the database before, and I guess the install failed to make it?? Or should it have been there??

Not complaining .... Just informing.
I feel like the goose in the crowd.

Thats a known error in VB 3.5 that will be fixed in VB 3.5 Beta 3. It is not from the plug in.

For FF users, if you download the FoxyTunes 1.1.1 extension, this works JUST fine. I had trouble with it on mine, went over to IE to make sure it had installed (IT DID) so I went hunting for the FF extension to allow me to hear Windows Media Player and installed it. Works like a charm and other than having the controls on my task bar, it's non-intrusive. Liz

Got the radio up and running no problems.

But using the feed urls from radio-locator.com, they're fine if they start with http: but ones that start with mms: won't work.

Anyone else have this problem or know if there's a way around it?

Thanks

Ok, I just installed vb 3.5 RC1 along with the vBadvanced for 3.5 and the radio works fine in while on the forumhome, yet while on the portal I get "Page cannot be found".. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem. Usually adding the associated to nav bar replacements in the Portal admincp does the trick (ie: add "vBRadio.php" to navbar replacements box in vba CMPS admin CP/default settings), but not for vbRadio. :(

The problem is the URL....
the link from the portal page goes to: ww w.sitename.com/vbRadio.php
but it should go to: ww w.sitename.c om/forums/vbRadio.php

just don't know how to fix that other than via the above method.

thoughts? (or should I be posting on vbadvanced?) heh

In the Radio template you could try putting it all in an IF statement so only the usergroups you want to see it could.

Installed and working good on 3.5 RC2, but I have one question:

Why was "cpnav_radio.xml" never mentioned in the installation? I haven't uploaded it or anything yet because it didn't say to do so. Everything seems to be working fine without it, so do I need to upload it or not even use it? Thanks.

EDIT: Didn't want to double-post, so I'm just editing this post. I want the stations to go in a more "numerical" order, if you know what I mean. Such as this(lowest to highest):

91.7
95.6
96.9
101.1
104.9

Or this way(highest to lowest):

104.9
101.1
96.9
95.6
91.7

Kinda like a real radio dial if you know what I mean(hmm, sounds like something to add for the next version; it'd be pretty cool to have a layout like once you select a category from a dropdown, a "dial" for the category you selected shows up below the cat select dropdown - from there you can click on the number that is displayed to start that stream. there a a ton of ways to do this, and I mean it's just something to think about for future releases).

Currently, this is how it looks with the way I have them listed(see screenshot). If I put a "0" in front of the 8X.X and 9X.X numbers, it would come out right I assume, but they're out of order because 1 comes before 9 and it's not taking into consideration that it's 100 and 90, not 1 and 9.

Any one know how to ad a little banner ad to the radio pop-up? I want to add one below the area where the controls are. Its a blank area and I have a banner that would be perfect for it.

I also want to add a link back to the forums, but I dont' know WHERE to do so. (seems this isn't going to be supported for a while).

I'm a php n00b so dont' know what to edit to add/change stuff (like where is the html to edit? its not in the vbradio.php file :().

There should be a template called "RADIO" in your style templates. That is the vBRadio template that gets shown in the popup window. If what you add makes the page larger than the window itself, edit the "navbar" template, find the javascript for the popup and change the width/height to make everything fit so that you don't have to scroll to see everything.

Reminds me, I'm gonna release what I've done to edit all the hack templates today. Since I'm posting here, I'll go ahead and start with this template. The only change is that I added a footer to the template, like I do with all the other hacks to make them look more streamlined with the forums. Screenshot is included.

I click on whatever station that I'm interested in, and let it open up a window in MediaPlayer. This also allows me to make sure the channel works. I then go to MediaPlayer and then / file / properties / .

The address that you need will show up under "location".

I wouldn't think it would affect your bandwidth at all. The hack provides a link... it's not like your members are actually streaming off of data that is stored on your server. They are playing off a link in a new window... at least that's how I see it.

I'm having the same problem. Usually adding the associated to nav bar replacements in the Portal admincp does the trick (ie: add "vBRadio.php" to navbar replacements box in vba CMPS admin CP/default settings), but not for vbRadio. :(

The problem is the URL....
the link from the portal page goes to: ww w.sitename.com/vbRadio.php
but it should go to: ww w.sitename.c om/forums/vbRadio.php

just don't know how to fix that other than via the above method.

thoughts? (or should I be posting on vbadvanced?) heh

actually if you go into the navbar template and do one small change it will work in the vbadvanced portal it seems that all things that associate with the portal need this /forum/ in front of it:

Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/ulnet/public_html/forum/vBRadio.php on line 100

get that in the pop up window.

Made these changes to the vBRadio.php file, and works perfectly again:)
Strange, it translates $DB to $db, try changing this line:

Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------

To:

Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------

See if that works.

- Zero Tolerance
I have modified some of the code to the template to add some links from sites I am streaming from, and also to add a banner, which links to our site(See screenshot). I have been able to add many video files, and streams to it also, and since, now call it our Media Player, instead of just Radio. Feel free to test it out on my site, no permissions set yet, but thinking of changing that soon, after seeing a few mods in this thread:) You will find the link to launch it on the nav bar on our website, called "Website Menu" > "Wild Media Player".

Clicks Install:)

I installed vbradio a few days ago, I love it, the members love it, but I have gotten a nasty gram from my host saying that I've exceeded my CPU usage, and I haven't done anything out of the ordinary except install vbradio. Is this a server intensive script, I figured that it loaded the PHP, then streamed from the server where the stream is hosted.

Am I wrong??? I won't know till tomorrow where the problematic script lies, but I'm hoping to get some answers tonight.

By the way it is a radio site and it is absolutely necessary as the existing soutcast can not be arranged for multiple bitrates where we are transmitting. As I understood the existing zip file contains a lot of parts which are not appropriate for its installation in vbadvanced. If somebody can do all these alternations I will be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any assistance and or advise.

I would love to combine this mod with the shoutcast server status mod. Its weird, I can get this to work perfect - yet the shoutcast server status mod will not access the station - it shows it offline... using the same settings as vbradio.

So mainly if anyone is up to it, a current song playing, previous 10 songs played, and whos listening.

*pretty please* lol

I had this same problem after updating to 3.5.1 this past week.

Made these changes to the vBRadio.php file, and works perfectly again:)

Clicks Install:)

wow. LOVE what you did here. I'm very jealous!! :D

-- > can I ask how did you add the video files???

(love your forums too. ;)) great job.

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="calendar.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[calendar]</a></td>

as of that I am wondering in which template I have to add :

<script type="text/javascript">
<!--

function OpenRadio(){
Radio = window.open('vBRadio.php','vBRadio','directories=no,height=320,width=650,locatio n=no,menubar=no,resizable=no,status=no,toolbar=no')

return false;
}

-->
</script>
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="#" onclick="return OpenRadio()">vBRadio</a></td>

and whether or not the sript should be modified accordingly????

Anybody who can help??????

Error. vbradio.xml located in directory '' was not found. Please make sure it is uploaded then press the submit button below

That is my error message after following this step....

In your browser (Internet Explorer/Mozilla etc..)
Go to this url: http://YOURSITE.COM/FORUMS/admincp/install_vbradio.php
[You will need to change the capitals within this url to meet your site's domain and forum location]

Follow the file through each step, if step 1 was configured correctly no errors should occur when running
this file. Once finished you will be prompted to delete 2 specific file's, you must do this.

It's because the tables are already in the database. Would be nice if this mod had a working uninstaller.

You should have a button in the navbar. You did this step?

********************
[::: Step 3 - Integrating The System :::]

In your forums admin cp, go to the following destination:
Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> Edit Templates -> Expand All Templates

Find the template 'navbar'

FIND:
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="calendar.php?$session[sessionurl]">$vbphrase[calendar]</a></td>

Just a short question: How much Traffic does it create to my Webspace..

Answer:- Next to none. What it does is it loads the stream from another site, it then plays it in a Media Player (which should be installed on the client pc) so, it takes up about 5 - 10 KB, per person. (Thats all)

My question is:-

Ok Install went good for me, many people are tuning in. However... On "Online Users" it says "Unknown Location - vbradio.php". Is there anyway of making it say "Listening to the Radio".

Let me know!
