We are currently discussing what actually classifies as a Plugin and havn't decided a clear definition yet, therefore this Hack isn't classified as a Plugin at the moment.

Hi Kirby

Your instructions are a little rare ;)
To simply call your php file via the browser bar is not the optimal solution.
Could you either make instructions how to implement it into the navigation frame or make the xml file work as plugin (once the acp got hooked ;))

But thx for this nice feature.

Andreas
17 Jun 2005, 18:53
Hmm ... what instructions do you need/want?
There is a XML File for the AdminCP Nav - just upload it as stated in the Readme and there will be a new entry.

Update for Beta 3
The link now does appear in Navgroup Maintenance instead of creating another Navgroup.
Tu update, delete cpnav_customonline.xml and upload cpnav_customonline_b3.xml instead.

Working with RC1 Kirby. :) You might want to add to the instructions where you'll find the entry in the AdminCP, as I was baffled for ages before I scrolled down and saw your above post! ;) Good job using the same database fields as the previous version... It picked up all my old files. :)

(ie, /index.php is my Portal, but other index.php's aren't, so I need to specify.)

YAY! Been looking for something like this! [INSTALL]
EDIT: One more thing, can this be made to accept something like "userpage.php?do=list"? Show this as "Viewing Userpage List" but show "userpage.php?do=edit" as "Editing Userpage" and all else with userpage.php as Viewing Userpage?

Needs to be:

You can't have this as the filename, as it is not the filename.
However you can code a Plugin that uses this as the URL on WOL.

Take a look at the Plugins this Hack creates to get the idea how to do that.

Would I have to do a separate plugin for each time I wanted to do that or could I just keep adding links like this to it? That might actually work out better as a plugin.

For more complicated stuff, as said, you have to make your own Plugins :)

Kirby, is there any way to make this recognize urls in a subfolder within the forums? For example, I have PhotoPost installed and would like to simply have everything in the folder forumroot/gallery/ to show up as In the Gallery.

Is this possible with this?

Andreas
25 Sep 2005, 21:18
Depends.
AFAIK the existing Hooks only handle Filenames. So if the Filenames are unique it should work, otherwise I think it will not.

Same problem here but with vba gallery, vba links and vbadvanced portal...

I was able to make the link go outside the forum dir by adding 2 dots in front (eg "../gallery/" for "www.e-steki.com/gallery/") and it's displayed correctly in the settings but it sadly doesn't work in the whoisonline... :(

Hello,

Is it possible to expand on this modification so you can also add "WOL" locations for specific users?

I want my users to have the ability to see where other users are as it may promote activity such as additional subscriptions and donors, but I would like to have the ability to hide my staffs actual location on the site. If I could enter a location similar to that for custom pages, that would be great.

(I am sure other users could use this feature as well.)

Here is my problem...my forum page is forum.php and vb CMPS index is index.php

I tried adding index.php as custom location but it shows as Viewing Index http://domain.com/forum.php and when I remove the custom url it again shows

Unknown Location /index.php

Any Idea what needs to be done?
I am on 3.6.4!
It does exactly the same on mine too.

For users with Photopost, the way to use this plugin is to turn off search-engine friendly urls in photopost. Then add the photopost-specific urls in the WOL plugin: "showalbums.php", "showphoto.php", etc...

Yes working fine with 3.7.2.
But did you manage to have the correct URL linked in WOL when beeing in PhotoPost? Of course it is listing "viewing photo" or "viewing gallery". No problem. But it is linking (of course) just to showgallery.php and showphoto.php.
It is possible to link somehow to the full URL path, eg. "showgallery.php?cat=1792" and "showphoto.php?photo=33156"?!

Thanks a lot!

If this is enabled on vB 3.8 the forum can't be set offline anymore and is still online for all users.

I don't see it working at all for vb3.8x!

My forum is forum.php and my vba homepage is index.php

When I add index.pho and make a title of Viewing Homepage nothing happens!

Can you please update this mod! Its way outdated!

THANKS!
