New Site: FREE vBulletin Styles!

Thats right...it has been decided. Snake~Eyes (from Piceljunction.com) and I will be opening a new site dedicated to bringing you FREE vBulletin styles! The site is a long way from finished, so you will have to wait a while!

I am posting this here tbecause i have an offer, and also a request.

Offer:

We possibly need a vB coder and a vB designer

Whatever you are better at, we may want you. This is not a deffinate, but we want to take a look and see how many people are willing to do this, and see what the abilities of you designers and coders are.

Obviously this is not a paying job. BUT...Once we establish a large "client" base, and get our name out and whatnot, and have a nice variety of free designs for download, we will offer pre-made styles also. And if you are still designing for us (i hope you will be), THEN, you will get paid based on the number of sales your designs have.

In order to get on our feet off the ground, there are a few things that we will need:

vBulletin License (owned OR leased)
Money for hosting and domain name OR
Free hosting


I know that you guys may be thinking that i am greedy, and do not want to buy this stuff myself, but think about what i will be doing. Releasing completely 100% FREE vBulletin styles for everyone!

Basically, ANYTHING that you can contribute will DEFFINATELY be appreciated. When the site opens up, and you register for the forums, you will be marked as a contributor, and possibly given a special contributors area that will include special stuff (dont ask what yet...i have to think:))

So, thats about it! Please Post here regarding ANY questions about this, and send in those applications!

I must say, you're asking for alot in donations there. You at least need your own licence to get off the ground. Once people see your site and like it I'd say they'd donate. But before anything is created, I highly doubt you'll get what you want.

I may be interested, but I might not have all the time on my hands.

Around $130/year. $260 the first year. Not trying to kill your joy but good luck. Then again one member of my site donated a lot saying that if it weren't for WDF then we would have lost his job.

The licence still isn't a thing alot of people want to give away. Considering it can be $160 at tops for the owned. (Right?)

People do sell "somewhat used" licenses (i.e., licenses that expire eventually) at about a percentage of the price they should be given the time that's passed. Not as easy to find them though because of the harsh advertising rules at vB.com (come on, not even a tiny bit of text in your signature? :rolleyes: )

If you could get a vB Licence somehow and get a forum up and people like and donate, you can pay yourself back and have more chance of people liking and giving you donations.

I could help with the site coding if you are going to use vbulletin to power it. i currently have some cool add-on's for kousetsu v4. Ive built a whole download database with 3 extra files and no changes to the vB database.

I would bet I'm bringing up an ancinet thread here, but it's amazing to look around and see the roots of one of the best vB skinning sites just sitting here at vBT.

Cypher, if you're still looking for a bit of help, I'd definitely consider joining up as a staff member!

My work can be found at my site (link in postbit and sig) but oddly enough my site seems to have gone down. I should write a homing beacon program, so I can find out my IP address from somewhere else just by tuning into the beacon.

I'd create a subforum for you on my site.. you'd have to use my domain (obviously) but you can skin it the way you like. Then, once you build up, you can jump to your own site/server. If you did this, I'd give you some hosting too .
