I Have this problem..
have a look
hmmm... ok wait a little i'll will post the fix to that.
Ok here is the fix..
Find in the Quote With name, for this html code:
<td width="100%" background="images/quotes/quot-bye-bg.gif" align="left" valign="middle">
<span class="smallfont">Originally Posted by: <b>{option}</b></span>
</td>
and replace it with this:
<td width="100%" background="images/quotes/quot-bye-bg.gif" align="left" valign="middle" nowrap="nowrap">
<span class="smallfont">Originally Posted by: <i><b>{option}</b></i></span>
</td>
If you want just copy and paste, than download the zip file again. I have expanded the table to 70% instead of the 50% it was before and adding <i> to the quoted actor
take a look a THIS (http://www.2spoemas.com/foros/showthread.php?t=643) post to see how looks now.
If you want to change the with to the Simple Quote , just change to the firt <table> tag the with 50% for 70% ;)

You may want to make a note that you need to increase the amount of images allowed per post as these images currently do count towards the limit (I had to raise the limit, as mentioned before, here at vBT).

I bet it wouldn't be too hard for you to modify it to work with your dark background by adjusting the colors and inverting/adjust levels in photoshop for the iamges...
I thought about that also but I'm not that good in PS.

Do you mean centered in the postbit? if is that what you want than put align="center" in the first <table> tag.

VBHispano, estas diciendo q conseguiste añadir el Round Quotes en una v.2.3.2? Y como instertas tanto HTML en los CustomVB Codes?
VBHispano, are you saying you managed to get Round Quotes work onto v2.3.2? How tha hell u put so many HTML tags onto Custom VB Codes?

Fix for the maximages problem
Note that just increasing the maximum number of images in Admin CP is not a good solution because if someone wants to put lots of quotes in their posts, they will hit the maximum - each quote has a minimum of 5 images. 10 quotes would be 50 images.
A better solution is to do this:
In the BBCode section for both Simple and Username Quotes, find in the HTML every instance of:
Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------
And replace with:
Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------
and delete the second occurance of WIDTH="15" in each of the img tag.
You do this 5 times in the Simple Quote, and 7 times (I think) in the Quote with Username.
Then, you need to do some hacking - apologies if this is not allowed - it's only a minor hack.
In includes/functions_newpost.php, find:
Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------
Replace with:
Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------
That should do it. The quoting images will now NOT be counted as an image in posts. Smilies and other images will still be counted as usual.
work like a charm... thanks for share it:)

Dexter,
This is a really pretty mod, but I have a problem.
If anyone can tell me what to put in the tag box for Quoting with username, in the BB Code Manager, (as I deleted it by mistake) I would be very grateful.
My simple quotes work fine but my quote with username no longer works, it just says Quote. Oh dear.
I am using v3 beta 6.
Help please someone.
I think you should put quote but i'm not sure since i don't have beta 6.

The following errors occured when this post was submitted:
You have included too many images in your signature or in your previous post. Please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.
Images include use of smilies, the vB code [img] tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator.
Thats the mesage I am getting when I try to quote a message, what can I do to fix this?

I fixed this by setting the amount of pictures in a post/signature to 0 (disabled it)..

I tried modifying this to make it work for code and PHP as well. But the images would not work- what do I have to do to make the images work"?

I am having some problems with this on my forums (www.theapostleofgod.com/forums). When uploading the image folder, do I put the images in the folder, or the folder, into the misc folder?
--edit--

I swear I can see images loading, but then I can't even highlight them and see properties.
The folder quotes into the misc folder
.../misc/quotes/

Dexter, I simply can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I cut and pasted the text exactly into the bbcode_quote, and uploaded the folder with the images in it to the misc directory of my images. I just can't figure it out. www.theapostleofgod.com/forums is my board. I know you're busy, but if you could maybe try to quote something, and see what happens, I would appreciate it. It... doesn't do anything.
I don't know what's wrong...
just look like the directory doesn't exist
ensure that you have that folder in the correct images folder for you forums and even if you have uploaded to the misc folder of the one spesified in the estyle you are currently using.

Actually, this is a problen with gamma. In the extra CSS there is a line to align the imgs to the middle "img { vertical-align: middle; }
If you erase that, will work correctly but some other images in your forum will not apear correctly i think ..

Thank you Faranth, it worked like a charm. It also took care of that 'high chunk' that would appear at the bottom of the categories. It looks really nice now. Now, all I need is for the cells to align properly in categories, a welcome panel, and I'm good to go :D

I have 2 questions regarding this modification.
1) will it be compatable with "vBulletin Version 3.0.0 Release Candidate 2"
and
2) can the quote box be made wider at a set size? Say 400 pixels or maybe bigger?
I'm trying to incorporate it onto these forums http://www.parent-2-parent.com/forum/index.php? and would like the quotes to all be the same width, but larger.
Thanks!

20 Jan 2004, 22:28
Works fine for RC2 no problems at all.
to 2) I just got a quick look for size definitions and it seems dynamical
You could change the % size in the < table > tags to your desired width ( minus the fix sizes for the grafics left, right and middle for quote or quote with name)
(It wouldn´t always be the EXACT same size cause a longer username add´s more px to the width then a shorter you only could make a fix size for the quote with name box as well that is wide enough to fit your largest username but I don´t think if this would look good)
Then it should fit fine into your forum
Greetings

Actually, don´t think U can as such..
But the prob is, that if You have to copy/paste a poste with a quote, and quote that contens in a post, the gfx looks awefull.
Sorta like this...

I've got it working pretty much OK but you'll see from the attachment that a few of the images are missing!? I did a 404 check on my server and whilst most of the images are being called from images/misc/quotes the missing ones are being called from 'images/misc/quotes - that's'images with a ' so what did I do wrong?
Help appreciated.
And does it work in vb 3.0 too?
Thanks for coding!

Really cool hack but do have 1 question... Where is <img SRC="images/quotes at? I have searched every file and the database as well but cant find any instances of it. If it helps I am running vb3 gold.

Should I be adding this as a new BBCode?

I have had this installed and it works fine for the most part. My question is, is it possible to have the size of the quote "bubble" automaticaly resize depending on the amount of text inside the quote? As you can see from my screen shot, mine has a lot of "extra" space inside and it doesn't look that good.
Thanks for any help
I'm having an interesting issue. I wanted it left aligned in my posts so I added the align="left" and wound up with this. Suggestions? Adding three line breaks at the end of the table seemed to fix it if there's only a small amount of text but not for larger amounts.
There was also a typo in the code for RoundedQuotes_vB3[1].0.1.txt:
style="margin-top: 5px; marin-bottom: 5px; width:$stylevar[codeblockwidth];"
Missed a g for the margin. :)

Lexina, if you only use one board style, hard-code the font color in the template.
Use this to have it work properly on 3.07 also change the 2 #colour values near the end of the code to match the background for light or dark skins...upload the quote folder to forum /images. Works %100 for me.

That's the thing, this is in the vB3.0 mods section. :ermm:
There should be a section in the read-me for those who aren't in vb3.5 yet if it's going to be in this section. If anyone's having problems like me and defence did, you basically need to create two quote tags in the bb code manager, the file in the zip has the code on top for no name, and the one on the bottem is with name. Then the other text download goes in the template.
