Make Linked Forums Appear as Sponsors

This was inspired by the sponsor forums on vBulletin.nl and implemented at theadminzone.com. I would like to share it with you.

Open your forumhome_forumbit_level2_post template and replace the code with:

Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.

There is a default size of 185 X 25 pixels for the images hardcoded in the code above, feel free to change this. You would name the images banner_$forumid.gif where $forumid corresponds with the Forum ID appropriately.

I don't have a screen shot but you can see it in action at either of the sites listed above. I am sure for those who use Advertising on their sites, this would allow a new avenue of advertising. You can probably modify the above code to work with Categories easily enough as well.

Nice, however Im a little confused on what to do when you create the banner. You create the banner I know, but what would I name it if my forumid would be 39?

You should ask the thread beginner if you can release the modification but I think that this will not be a prob.

Its simply a addon this his template change to make this also working for sub forums.

Can you PM it to me until he allows you to post it here?

I tried to install this mod, but nothing appears to happen. I replaced the forumhome_forumbit_level2_post code thru the admin panel and uploaded a banner_15.gif image to my forum/images/misc folder. That is all that I need to do correct? Any help appreciated. Thanks. -mm
