Soft Deleted Archive v3.2

If you have a forum where you disallow your Moderators to Hard Delete posts, you might want to look over exactly what posts they have deleted, in case of disputes between staff and members. But running a huge forum with hundreds of threads, this task can get tiring.
This is where the Soft Deleted Archive comes in handy!

Features:

Seperate threads and posts
Name and link to forum of the thread/post
Username that posted the post
Username that deleted the post
Reason for deletion, if any were inputted
Date of thread/post deletion
For threads, link that takes you directly to the thread in question
For posts, link that takes you directly to the post in question, for manual managing
Limit the number of total entries to show per page
Ability to choose Sorting Order (Ascending or Descending)
Flagging Threads and Posts seperately
Fully phrased
Ability to Hard Delete selected threads/posts
Ability to Restore selected threads/posts
NO Code Modifications needed!
More efficient forum counter rebuilding.

Screenshots attached.

Install instructions:

Click install (you want your precious support, don't you?).
Upload the files.
Import the Product XML file through your ACP.
Enjoy.

Looks possibly useful.

I was thinking about something like this last night, but more in terms of the Reported Post plugin. When a thread is deleted, it gets move to a specified forum. When a post gets deleted, it gets moved to the same forum, starting a new thread.

Awesome!!

I have over 500 soft-deleted posts on my board that I have been too lazy with my current hack to open individually to review/remove. This will be a gem when I go to 3.5 on my live site so that I can get rid of them all.

Installs with MUCH thanks. :)

Revan,

I never bothered with my 3.0.7 board as I went live on 3.5 last week, but loaded this up today and got rid of hundreds of these pesky things in one click. Ran flawlessly -- and quickly.

Thanks so much for sharing this! :D

@fleabag -- you may want to try to delete fewer at one pop? If you are deleting threads that have a boatload of posts in them, that will be quite intensive...

Revan

Would you say this is server intensive? It's timing out for me, no other script on my host does that.Well I can assume it will run a few more than 1 query per Post/Thread you delete, because it is updating the forum counters etc for each post. I might blatantly rip the vB function only with the update part stripped for a future version - right now Im on an RPG code roll and I don't want to spoil the moment ;)
You sex sexy man (Just keeping in line with the thread, HONEST!)*ahem* Neal sounds awfully much like a mans name, so Im gonna pretend I didn't see this ;)

If you're using the product xml by mtha, from RC3 onwards you should use the attached cpnav_softdel.xml file instead of the one included in the current zip.

This attaches the cpnav to the product rather than vBulletin itself, something which the Enhanced ACP Navigation modification uses to list the custom cpnavs in their own menu.

This is helpful to keep track of all the soft deleted threads and posts. I also uploaded the file softdeladmin.php into the modcp, in addition to the admincp, so that the moderators would be able to view all soft deleted threads and posts on the forum as well.

The "flag" button seems to have the same function as "undelete" so I'm not sure what its purpose is.

I think the text Here, you can view an index of all the posts/threads that you or your moderators have "Soft Deleted". should be changed to Here, you can view an index of all the posts/threads that have been "Soft Deleted". because it also includes soft deleted posts by regular members.

I am unable to test this new archive due to a SQL error in vBulletin 3.5.0 which is preventing me from deleting posts. I will check it out when I am provided with a fix.

I also uploaded the file softdeladmin.php into the modcp, in addition to the admincp, so that the moderators would be able to view all soft deleted threads and posts on the forum as well.Good idea, I didn't do this by default because on my forums, I dislike the idea of my moderators Hard Deleting anything. And what with there being no ways of limiting SMod permissions yet...

I see now that the flag button is used in conjunction with the other buttons, to either hard delete or to undelete. I was confused by the terminology when I first saw it. I also noticed that if the flag button is checked by itself with neither hard delete or undelete selected, it choses undelete by default so that when submitted, the flagged post is undeleted.

You can get this to work for your super moderators as well. Here is how you do it. After installing it on the board, you edit the file softdeladmin.php. Find the following and delete it:

// ######################## CHECK ADMIN PERMISSIONS #######################
if (!can_administer('canadminthreads'))
{
print_cp_no_permission();
}

Then save the file and upload it into the forum/modcp directory.

Oops, I just read your question now. Yes, something else has to be done in order to put a visible link in the moderator control panel, but that is beyond my abilities. Despite that you could just provide a list of useful links for your moderators to use or to bookmark, of which one would be /forum/modcp/softdeladmin.php.

Finally, i've found a way by myself...

How to mass select all of the soft deleted posts listed under User CP?

Open your Admin CP > Styles & Templates > Moderation Templates > moderation_posts template:

Find:
$totalposts (the first one)

Add right after $totalposts:
<input type="checkbox" name="allbox" id="checkall_all" title="$vbphrase[check_uncheck_all]" onclick="inlineMod.check_all()" />
By default, only 4 soft deleted posts listed under User CP moderation menu.

How do list X soft deleted posts under User CP moderation menu?

Open your /forum/moderation.php file with your text editor.

Find:
sanitize_pageresults($totalposts, $pagenumber, $perpage, 200, 4);
Change '4' with 'X'... I've changed mine to '100' because of the massive soft deleted posts amount...

Save and upload the edited moderation.php file.

(You may want to revert 100 to 4 after you remove all soft deleted posts)

Ok first off I dont feel like looking at every single user to see if there are post of theres that where soft deleted and hard delete them, and there has been nothing done with my usercp that would require a revert. It only shows post/threads that I have subscribed to, not that others are subscribed to and have been deleted.

second I would like the option to be in the AdminCP where it is ALL in one place...just like it is in 3.5.4

Fix

SELECT
deletionlog.*,
deletionlog.primaryid AS postid,
deletionlog.type AS deltype,
deletionlog.userid AS userid,
post.dateline AS postdateline,
thread.*,
thread.title AS threadtitle,
thread.forumid AS forumid,
forum.*,
forum.title AS forumtitle,
user.username
FROM deletionlog AS deletionlog
LEFT JOIN user AS user USING(userid)
LEFT JOIN post AS post ON post.postid=deletionlog.primaryid
LEFT JOIN thread AS thread ON thread.threadid = deletionlog.primaryid
LEFT JOIN forum AS forum ON forum.forumid = thread.forumid
WHERE deletionlog.type = 'thread'
ORDER BY `dateline` DESC
LIMIT 0, 15;

Im test VBB 3.6.2

Open file softdeladmin.php
Find line:
ORDER BY `dateline` $sqlorder
Replate with:

ORDER BY `primaryid` $sqlorder

Or dele line:

ORDER BY `dateline` $sqlorder

Or dowload attach file.
Done!

Thank you very much. I missed this.

3.6 has an option to find and delete all "soft deleted POSTS", They put it in UserCP not AdminCP

User Control Panel -> Moderation -> Deleted posts

http://Yourdomain/forums/moderation.php?do=viewposts&type=deleted

I've been looking high and low for this, what a totally bizarre place to stick it in, and not to also include it in the AdminCP. sucks tho that I can select 4 at a time..i've got like 50 pages to click through.

Hi, I now installed this Hack on my vBulletin 3.6.8 Patch Level 2 with the Version from Post #94 and it show me all soft deleted posts.

But I cannot flag all Posts by mark "Flag Posts"

No mark will be set, so I have to mark all by hand.

Could you please tell me how to fix it?
