View Full Version : Idiot Ban - Make fun of your troublesome users...
Who says banned people don't deserve a parting gift?
Show your banned members you care by sending them a little greeting - everytime they login to their account :devious:
This is similiar to Brad.Loo's hack in which his displays a 404 error, however this one redirects the user to a set flash animation making fun of the user. How Glorious!
Special thanks to Paul M for the redirection help :nervous:
how to install?
Code:
---------------
Code is only visible to licensed users, and only when logged into the forums.
---------------
how do i change the page i want them to be redirected to? (how do i change the flash movie?)

Haha, any chance in doing this for 3.0.7? I havent even looked at the code it might not need to be ported.
404 error when you log into the forums :)
This is so simple, BUT VERY COOL! :) Thx dude :)

Suggestion: Make it in the actual template system...
404 error when you log into the forums :)
I't sends you to werebored.com/youare.swf, but it has to be werebored.com/forum/youare.swf
Btw, I would also like to see this for 3.0.7

You mean it's coming up with a 404 error when using the demo account? I just logged in and it worked fine :ninja:
Suggestion: Make it in the actual template system...
I would have, but then I would lose the functionality of turning it on and off :ermm:
Get what I mean? May as well take advantage of the new plugin system all we can...
Port this to vB 3.0.7
But where's the fun in having to actually edit files? :speechless: And you can't enable/disable it either.
Anyways I'll consider doing it tomorrow.
Thanks for the comments.

Yep 404 error with the test account :)
Satan
lol, considering most people know how to get around bans nowadays, you might have some fun with it ;)

@defi - The swf file is in the wrong place - you have it the forum folder but are redirecting to the root. Either move the file or add the forum folder to the redirect :)

That's really weird as I'm not getting this error - instead I'm being directed to the forum root where it's located :ermm:
Eh, I'll duplicate it for the heck of it. :nervous:
Rotfl... this is hilarious, I love it. By the way, nice template!

Hahaha what an evil hack..
/me clicks install
but 3.0.7 port would be nice
Lol this is great :D. I'll be sure to add this when I upgrade :).
How did this wind up in code mods? This edits no code. This is a plugin.
Could a mod please fix this?

This Hack includes an additional (SWF) file.
According to our current Definition, it is not a Plugin then as it requires direct file access (for uploading the SWF).

Well so much for using the plugin instead of hard editing the global.php :ermm:
Wow this is great. I'd love a 3.0.7 port of this. ;) It looks simple enough but I was unable to do it myself (very novice coder).
My bad guys, I've been absent for a bit. I've received alot of PMs about this and I'll get to answering those asap.
