but. er... I nothing chinese about them, per se.
though they are much more the style of avatars you see on asian web sites. (nothing to do with their eyes though :/ )

These simles are made by a chinese designer I guess, if I remember well, they are http://www.eicostudio.com

EDIT: Yea I just checked their webpage at http://www.eicostudio.com/download.asp, they made them, these smilies are very popular in the country, and I believe they are affected by japan mangas. :) cuz japanese mangas are popular everywhere.
