I happen to have some minor alignment issues with the name of the user, and the corresponding text. Is this a problem on my end? You can see it from the snapshot below.



I used Firefox 3.5 and Google Chrome and have the same problem on both browsers.

Can we use privat chat with friends on Vb?

Good chat box. My members really enjoy this chat box. The only thing wrong with it is obviously that alignment issue. It gets pretty annoying when you see people type on the chat box with long names and it almost looks as if their name is over lapping their message.

use the latest version... also have the alignment issues

EDIT: nevermind...stupid mistake. I had the chatbox entered manually in the templates and positioned automatically by the product settings lol.

For some reason after ive applied the update for the error on the cms im getting two shoutbox's on the forum home page :( Any idea's.

Ive deleted and done full install's etc so i dont understand why im getting two :(

Look in the template forumhome i thimk that you have pasted two times the same code.

Now for a quick question. Has anyone found an easy way to get the chatbox included on a page outside the forum? I can probably hack my way through using iframes but was hoping someone had a quick easy way to include this on another page.

anyone know how to insert the chat box also in home page on cms ?
i do not use often the forum but more frequently the cms and may be that chatting on cms the users desiers to go on forum ! !

Make sure you disable auto placement of the product in your options though.

i have it working 100% perfect on FIREFOX (on top the shoutbox i have the dropdown menu with the font size to the right) but on INTERNET EXPLORER that part is to the left and jumbled together.... any reasoning for this? thanks for the help!!

When my ChatBox is on, I can't create an Article on home page.

Much better than that GCBOS or whatever that laggy chatbox is called. Lagged my server like hell with like 60+ users online, poor Dedicated Server.

Only thing im recommending is:

1) Can you add a function to MSG people privately on the chat, Basically the ability to only send a msg to that person (by clickong in their name or using like /pm <username> hi)

1.2: Additionally some functions like /mute <username>, /unmute <username>, etc would be nice

2) When I had a notice up, the chatbox was above the notice, and it looked weird. how do i fix this placement


As for the way this was coded, far more faste than GCBOS

When did you download the chatbox? The latest version was to fix that...could search the thread for this error.

Really love this mod.

I'm curious if anyone else is still having issues with the Expand/Collapse button disappearing you collapse and refresh? I've noticed it actually loads the correct one, then changes it immediately to: ".../images/buttons/collapse_collapsed_40b_collapsed.png" and if you re-expand it loads the the collapsed image instead of the expanded one.

Also is there any way to reduce the extra padding under the ChatBox when expanded? It about doubles from when collapsed on my site.

I'm having the same alignment issues where the username does not align with the inputed text for that person.

Edit:
Apparently, the alignment issue only happens when there are smilies in the text. Otherwise, it comes out fine. If the smilies were bottom-aligned I think everything would be fine.

When (cms) portal?

i every have the same problem.. it's impossible to write in chat box and i do not understand why . . .

after install i noticed this IE error when I first go to the site i get this attached error.
Chatbox is empty and showing "Loading".
In firefox it shows loading as well, but not the error.
If i hit refresh on the page, it goes away. Any fix for this?

I had GCBOS, which was ok, but most have been a resource hog. I disabled it, and tried this..WOW, the forums seem so much faster now..I had no idea.

I clicked collapse and now no way to un-collapse it.

Fantastic MOD. Marked as INSTALLED!!!

Took less than 30 secs to get it working on Google Chrome. No other bugs fm other users.

How can I change the background colour of the main chat box.

I assume its something to do with CSS, but thats all voodoo to me.

Don't work with Safari for me....

Installed, was a snap.

However I have encounterd some issues. The big one right now is the colors. How do i get the default white to return?

I was testing the different colors on my forum and noticed they would remain in the type box. So users with lighter colors could not see what they where typing.

Anyway if I choose the white color I cannot see what I am typing in the box, but it shows up in the chat just fine. By default I could see what I was typing in the box and it would come out in the chat as white.

So how can i fix this?

A little suggestion for Valter:
can you add the option via acp to disable ALL the BB code(except color, bold, italic and underline)?
Disabling manually all the BB codes is very silly..

To the ppl that have visualization, browser problems or bugs:
On my 4.0.1 I tested this chat on all browsers(also mac systems with safari) and I found 0(z-e-r-o) problems, no bugs and a very small server load.

Same here lol, how weird is that. I have collapsed this mornign now cant expand it grrrr

I do a SHIFT reload to the page with the chatbox and the expand arrow will show up for a moment and expand it back then...but I only collapsed to see what you guys were doing to make it do that...don't see a reason to collapse it myself.

Hello, Great mod but can you help me change the color of the title font? "Chatbox"

I have seen this asked but I guess I am missing the answer. I saw where the default text is the first set in the acp which is great. What I am trying to do is change the text input background from white to something else. The reason being is on a dark forum, you need light text. However with a white background input box, it is hard to read the light text.

Another option would be to just make it so that the input box is always black text on white background and the colors only appear in the window. I think that is kind of limiting though.

So anyone know where I change the background box color?

We seem to be having an issue with browsers.. Seems our install works great with Firefox but with IE8, Opera and chrome the chat box isnt showing... Its happening in multiple skins...

Any ideas? Love the chatbox!!

there is no blockhead.css that I can find. Most likely this is just class within one of the css files. The question is which one since searching for blockhead brings up many.

If anyone has a fix I would be appreciative!

How i revert the templates? ^^

If you have modified any of hack templates they are marked red in template list.
To revert modified template select it on the list, then click 'Revert'.

All of my templates are found in 'Valter' group.

Not completely, but you can set it to higher value.

if i type letters, it lag a little bit. some users didnt have it but me and some others who write very quick/fast.
(sorry for my bad english, iam german)

There seems to be a path issue with the icon next to the date/time stamp. Can you point me in the right direction as to where I can find this path? I went through the templates and could not find that particular image path.

We're supposed to change colors in CSS these days, but the title can be changed in Phrases. AdminCP>Languages and Phrases>Search in Phrases>"Chatbox" leads you to vsacb_chatbox - just hit the Edit button next to it.
Try "<font color="red">My Shoutbox</font>".

I did a complete search for post_old.gif and post_new.gif in the code and it shows as "not found" on the following templates.
