As with any script of this type, it depends how you configure it and how much use it gets. Certainly nobody with a forum of any size on a shared host should configure it as a chatbox. I have mine set up as a shoutbox (basically, short logout times), which discourages people from hanging out there and carrying on conversations - that makes things pretty light.

How to fix smilies with " bug ?

curtism 18 Aug 2010 03:15

How to add rules ? to it?

mishb68 19 Aug 2010 09:33

Works great - I love this chatbox.

Does anyone know how to change the background colour or to put a border around it? If this has been answered previously I apologise but 90 pages is just too much to read.

Is there a way to block which forum id that will update in the chatbox?

Centrix 22 Aug 2010 17:51

I was wondering if its possible for me to include the chat on an external site as well..

I have a main site + forum, and I already changed my site so it takes the forum session and everything, so u need to be logged in to view certain pages etc etc, but I was wondering if I can somehow include the chat on one of those sessioned pages.

If so, how could I achieve this?

Have a look here: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showp...&postcount=795

PS: You can use "Search this Mod" to find quickly what you are looking for.

Thanks a bunch pal but I gave up and changed to a different chatbox

In the above link (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showp...&postcount=795) you can see how we change the background colour of the "text input area".

If you want to change the background colour of the "message area", then in Valter Templates>vsa_chatbox template find

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

and replace with

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

where #000000 is the desirable colour.

I like this chatbox BUT is there anyway that new posts and the like can be displayed over on the right of the chat box like MGC Chatbox Evo does.

As it is currently, it can get very confusing with all the new posts popping up when users are chatting.

Hey guys..

Does anyone have any tips on how NOT to make the smilie box have scroll bars? (besides turning it off of course)

I would like to be able to see my smilies without scrolling.

Thanks in advance,

SpongeBob71

having a small issue. when i log out of the forum and get taken to the logout page, the chatbox is still showing, which is causing me to lag for some reason because of the amount of smilies i have, its downloading them all, all 700 of them, and then logging me out. never did this before. if i were to logout it would instantly remove itself from the view on the logout page.

any ideas?
