The Official vBulletin Modifications Site
ZippyShare.com is a free file host that lets you upload any type of file for free to share with the internet community, also for free. If you upload special types of files, such as music or video, it will even allow you to embed a player for your file. This BB Code specifically deals with Music (.mp3) files.
Go to www.zippyshare.com and upload an mp3 file. Then link to it using the following bbcode to embed a player right in your forum page:
Live Demo: here.
When you submit a file you need 2 pieces of information, the number following the "www" as the option and the file number which goes between the tags. In my example the file was uploaded to www21 so "21" is the tag option. 4972441 is the file number.
Add a new BBCode
Title: ZippyShare Music
BB Code Tag Name: zippy
Description: This code embeds a ZippyShare.com mp3 music file. The example is a reading of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven."
Use Option: Yes
Button Image: (optional) http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/attac...1&d=1279662586
Remove Tag If Empty: Yes
All Disable Options: Yes
Once you upload your music file at zippyshare.com copy the file number and the number after the "www". These numbers are in the link.
Example: If your link is: http://www21.zippyshare.com/v/4972441/file.html
Your file number is: 4972441
And your www option is: 21
Put the file number between the [zippy="www#"] [/zippy] tags.
NOTE: After submitting a post with this bbcode you may need to reload (refresh) the page to see the embedded player.
Files uploaded to ZippyShare.com remain active for at least 30 days after the latest activity (download) of the file, so it's not a permanent solution but it will still work well staying alive while any thread is active and then for 30 additional days.
This was tested with 4.0.4 but should work on all current versions.
Please mark as installed if you use this. :)
Download the .txt file for a copy of the Install Instructions.
Nice idea! tags for Ron
Had to update this to use the option because not all files are uploaded to the same server.
Sorry, should work now.
If you want the file to auto-play when the page loads use the following replacement instead:
I suggest making a new bbcode called something like [zippyauto] so only people who need it to auto-start will use it. If every zippy embedded file auto-played on a page at once it would be bad,
Funcionou comigo perfeitamente !!
thanks~~~~~ installed and working great......
I am trying to embed this link http://www64.zippyshare.com/v/7291996/file.html
as per the guide I have this [zippy="64"]7291996[/zippy]
but it's not working..running on 4.0.3
Also when I enter it this way [zippy]http://www64.zippyshare.com/v/7291996/file.html[/zippy] ...I get the player window but cannot play..
anything that might be causing this??
OK well your second test, with the full URL, would never ever work so I'm not surprised it didn't work for you.
As for your exact code: [zippy="64"]7291996[/zippy]
That should work. I copied it exactly and it works fine on both my 3.8.7 forum and my VB 4.1.5 forum, proof here: http://www.qapla.com/mods/showthread...BBCode-Testing
So if it's not working for you I must conclude there was a mistake was made when it was installed. Do ANY zippy mp3's work for you or is it just this particular link you are having a problem with?
Did you remember to set Use Option to YES in the BBCode setup? That sounds like the most likely problem.
If you're sure that is set to yes please copy and paste here everything you have in the "Replacement" box of the BBCode. Please put it inside the [code] bbcode here so I can read it easily.
Hello, i have a question. What i must change but work this? I paste only http://www64.zippyshare.com/v/7291996/file.html not 64 (7291996)
Exapmple [zippy]http://www64.zippyshare.com/v/7291996/file.html[/zippy] and not [ZIPPY=19]3152613[/ZIPPY]
thank you for help
Then you would use: [zippy="64"]7291996[/zippy] in your posts.
You would NEVER EVER use [zippy]http://www64.zippyshare.com/v/7291996/file.html[/zippy] - that would NEVER work.
If [zippy="64"]7291996[/zippy] isn't working in your posts then you made a mistake when adding the new BBCode to vBulletin. Most likely you did not set "Use Option" to "YES."
