DJ's AME (Auto Media Embedding) XML Media Definitions (Third Time's the Charm)
Developer Last Online: May 2013
This thread is in the Modification Graveyard.
======================================== IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ These XML Files must be imported through your AME CP. That requires The Geek's AME - The Automatic Media Embedding System to be installed on your forum. Then you can come back here and import these definitions. ======================================== VERSION INFO - PLEASE READ While AME 2.0+ was redesigned for vBulletin 3.7.x, it should still function on versions 3.6.x. These media definitions will work with any version of AME. AME 2.0 now works with Social Groups, Blogs, Profile Comments and Visitor Messages (if your running vB 3.7.x, obviously). However, AME 2.5 BETA also supports signatures and has a global resizing option for each of these regions. If you decide you want the resizing functionality, you will need the definitions from this thread instead: DJ's AME (Auto Media Embedding) XML Media Definitions for 2.5 WHAT THIS IS? This thread is the third installment of a series of threads where we tried to collect media definitions for the AME modification by The Geek. The brilliance of The Geek's modification was that support for a given site could be added by people who knew a little about Regular Expressions, and then share the exported definitions with the community without The Geek having to update the modification each and every time. Hotwheels, and then Dannyloski both worked hard to maintain threads where we collected these definitions so they could all be in one place and easily downloaded. But both met with some unfortunate circumstances where they could no longer maintain those first two threads. Then I came along with my inordinate lack of something to do, and put everything together with the hope that I could keep things going as well. Hence the little joke there in the title about "Third Time's the Charm". So in addition to updating, I've kind of taken it upon myself to keep up with these definitions, collect, contribute and generally maintain this aspect of the modification. Hence the reason why I consider this the ultimate media embedding system for vBulletin, as we, as a community, have generated XML definitions for over 160 various kind of media outlets. I personally try to add at least 10 new sites every few months. LIVE DEMO This demo is running AME 2.0.2 on a live site. Periodically, this area will be closed for development. MEDIA DEFINITIONS New definitions are always in the works and any requests or XML contributions of your own are welcome. This is the complete list of Media Definitions, alphabetized and sorted by category. Please read any notations I've made for a particular definition here, since I can't include them in the XMLs. GamesSITES NOT AVAILABLE (The "No-Fly List") These are previously made or requested XML files that were working, but for varying circumstances, I can't make work at the moment. Things could change at a moment's notice, though, so be sure to subscribe to my updates. CBS News (Nothing to refrence in URL or HTML code)SUPPORT I'm always happy to help to the best of my ability, but please don't just say your video isn't working without providing links to either the video or the post your having a problem with. I can't help unless I know what to look for. Also be sure to check the FAQs in the following two posts, as your question has likely been answered many times. Thanks. DOWLOAD AND INSTALLATION There are three files available, though you don't neccesarly need all three. Definitions are installed by importing them through your AME CP in your Admin CP. YOU DO NOT IMPORT THEM THROUGH YOUR PRODUCT MANAGER. DJ's Master XML: This is the file you want if you're starting fresh and want the complete line of supported media sites. Remember that definitions do not overwrite, so you would need to delete your default definitions before importing this file.‡The 9 following images also need to be added to your images/misc directory. Remember to Click Install so you can be informed via email when a new files is added or updated!! I've got more in the works! THANKS everyone!Download Now Only licensed members can download files, Click Here for more information. Supporters / CoAuthors

GameTrailers is the quirkiest of the ones I've worked with. It doesn't seem to work on the initial post, but it embeds just fine when you edit the post. A user just loading the page can't get the video to play, but if he has the ability to edit the post, re-saving it will make it play. This is, of course, completely different behavior then it was displaying two weeks ago, when videos requiring age verification weren't working, but are now.
I'll look into them this update cycle, but I'm starting to think more and more that GameTrailers will need to go on the no fly list.

Hello,
I need to get videos from a certain site, h3press.net, working with AME pretty bad. We're supposed to use their player as an agreement for sponsoring us. I've looked at the resources for making your own, but my coding skills are weak at best, and I think it's more then I can do at this point. o_0 So I was wondering if I could get a definition made for this site? I would be more then happy to donate to this hack if that would help ![]() Heres an example video link: http://videos.h3press.net/video/a621...81003ee942.htm Thanks. No members have liked this post.

I glanced at a couple of videos, and I don't see why it wouldn't work with AME. But, those are my famous last words, so let me actually see if I can make it work first. (IGN should work too, but for some reason, it doesn't.) Donations aren't necessary, but, hey, don't let me stop you from the calling of your heart. LOL
![]() I'm hoping to have something for you guys tonight. But I don't want to set that in stone just yet, just in case something unexpected happens.

Does anyone else have this problem: youtube videos that appear twice in the same post, when they're only posted once? What gives? And what can I do about this? HELP!
Here's a partial view of what's going on (the bottom video is only partially visible) ![]() No members have liked this post.

QT and SWF Size option
Hi, I've got this installed, and it seems to be working great! One question though.
My students will be posting Quicktimes and SWF's that are a variety of different sizes, not just 320x240. Is it possible to make a mod that can display ANY kind of size thrown at it? Right now my work around was to modify the XML to a really large size (960x556) to accomodate the video sizes, but this makes a gigantic box when the video is only 640x480. Any thoughts? Thanks! This is a wonderful hack. Just downloaded and installed, and it works as a charm.
The only part I can't get to work is the local part.It still only gives me a link. When I click on the link, I get the media, but I'd rather see it embedded. I'll welcome all and any help ![]() Thanks in advance. No members have liked this post.

Well, I'm glad I didn't promise anything definite. I've been busy all weekend. I should have an update here in a few minutes. But I did run into a few problems this time around.
You mean AME itself? So far, I've heard several reports that it's working on 3.7 just fine. So these definitions will import into it okay too.

I noticed that if you disable External data fetching feature from youtube definitions, this one sometimes works and sometimes does not. No members have liked this post.

This was a pretty tough set of defs this time around. We've got some updates, but not near as many as I would have liked. Only two.
Unfortunately, Vurb Moto resisted embedding on my site. The RegEx just bounced back to a URL for me. I'm still not sure why. I don't know if has anything to do with the virus that tried to hit me when I last visited the site, but I'm trying to work around it. If someone wants to demo the definition I have, I'll be glad to share it with them. UPDATES! First up, I've got a "working" definition for BooMP3. The reason I use quotes is because it works, as long as the video does not use special or foreign language characters as part of it's name. So, for example, URLs like... http://www.boomp3.com/listen/f9rfaj9/nelly-furtado-maneater...embed just fine. But URLs like... http://www.boomp3.com/listen/bx1hoad/1º-princesa-dalmacio...show resistance. I'm not sure if this has something to do with the language my site uses, or a character issue, or what. This is just outside my knowledge, but if anyone is willing to experiment with this on their site, I would love to hear what kind of results your getting. Thankfully, H3Press gave me no problems, and should work for all their videos. If not, be sure to let me know. Last Minute addition here. Daily Motion US needed to be updated again. This should make their new URL structures work, but, as always, if it doesn't, let me know. Be sure to delete/disable your olde Daily Motion US definition prior to adding this one.
