About a certain style

Hi, three years ago, a vBulletin styles site (gfxstyles) was closed down and its owner didn't continue to support / update his styles. None of his styles are upgraded to vBulletin 4.x and since then I tried to update them manually.

Now I'd like to learn if it is legal to share one of these manually updated styles here, in vBulletin styles section? I've updated a dark style of this site from stratch and added some newer graphics.

Note: I want to share it for free.

if you do not have a legal approval from the author, it's like anyother thing on this planet... it is under copyright... so the answer is "no"...

You can however post an add-on or "how to" for the particular skin, and, i amy be wrong, but you should be able to post it as a whole as long as all rights are maintained for the original author and your edits are specifically marked as yours, although this is a question for vb.org staff

Yes, I'm waiting for an answer from the vb.org staff.

I couldn't reach the original author for the last three years.

And also one more thing, I'd bought this style, so it's not some kind of warez.

Purchasing it means that you have rights to edit and change it as you wish but the original code still belongs to the author., have you contacted vb.org staff direct?

You aren't allowed to post it without the author's permission, even if you've tried to get it but couldn't reach him. If it were already posted here you could post changes as Simon mentioned, but otherwise there's nothing you can do.

Sorry, you cannot post anything that belongs to someone else without their permission.
