9999 x Stupid = networksolutions.com !!

Hi,

If you want to register a domain name at networksolutions.com they will ask you to have a username with *minimum* 8 characters and a password of minimum 4 characters !! Can you believe these people ?!?
I cannot use my usual username, that I use everywhere because it is TOO short !! However, the password can be of 4 characters only !!!

Is it for crying, is it for laughing ... I still wonder

Regards,
Razvan

I won't use Network Solutions for anything. They treated me like crap when someone hijacked a domain one time. I moved all my domains to register.com where they're much more customer friendly.

NetSol is pure evil (so is Register.com). NetSol is the one who checked the WHOIS database for expiring domains and sent out renewal warnings. Sounds normal, until you realize that they sent the warnings for domains not registered with NetSol. Jackasses.

I used to use GoDaddy and Tucows but I got mad at those two, also. I finally just switched to having my host register and maintain them for me. Means I don't have to worry about nameservers or even renewing the domains (automatic). It's more expensive at $15/year but I don't really care about the $6 difference.

I actually use GoDaddy for my hosting. I had a two week period where it kept timing out and going rediculously slow. The dude kept telling me that there wasn't a problem. I forwarded him 144 emails from vB with timeout errors and 38 emails from my members. He said there wasn't a problem.

Incidentally, when you call that Bob dude that owns GoDaddy, they WILL transfer you to him.

Haven't had a problem since.

I use my hosts domain service too. And for me it's currently £15.00 ($30.00) every 2 years for one and £20.00 ($40.00) every year for the other, but I've never had any problems with them at all so I don't mind one bit that it costs me an arm and a leg.

I went with GoDaddy for domain registration to take advantage of private registration, but I'd never recommend them for hosting. One of my present hosts now offers private registration as well, but I always keep my domains and hosts separate (for better control).
