16 hour drive
Well I'm moving to florida next weekend (or sooner not yet decided) but it's a 16 hour drive. I'll be by myself in my little car flying down the highway. My car speakers are about to die (actually they make this weird noise that hurts my ears so I have to turn it off whenever I hear it) I might take my ipod if i can find my regular speakers for it (not headset since those are bad while driving). So any suggestions on how NOT to go crazy on a 16 hour drive?

The only way I could stay sane for a 16 hour drive is take alot of breaks, and also eat alot. But then I would gain 10 pounds, and it would be a 3 day drive.
Hm...what a predicament that is. No members have liked this post.

Well I know I'm going to be making at least one pitstop for awhile in Jacksonville to say hi to my family there but beyond that I'm not sure when I'll be stopping.

I'd load up the passenger seat with easy to eat and drive munchies and drinks, then just stop for rest breaks. Munch and drive, the only way forward.
Of course, to drive 16 hours I'd have to do a couple of laps of the country ![]()

SLEEP! if you get tired pull over and take a power nap. you're the most dangerous when tired while driving a vehicle. if not for your own safety do it for the others around you. also coffee, beverages, and foods will help. try to stick with protein foods as they will last longer unlike carbs which burn quicker.

xD, I don't drink coffee but I'll probably be bringing lots of caffine drinks.
I just really don't want to get super bored on the way there and go crazy.

I remember driving 18 hours to florida a few trips/vacations ago (I wasn't in TN at the time). I brought along the following:
- Case of CD's (close to 128) - Small box of Chips/Cheese Dip - A box of cookies (I like the keebler caramel cookies) Since it was an 18 hour drive, I probably additionally consumed 10-12 cups of coffee from various gas stations and Starbucks locations. Needless to say, between speeding a bit more than I should have been, the snacks, coffee and music, I didn't get bored once. I had my cell phone on me, though I never used it because where I was going is where all my friends were so I could just wait. No members have liked this post.

I've taken plenty of long trips in a car
![]() Maine & Florida.. 12 hours each I suggest good music, I could drive for HOURS on a few good Cd's. I know your speakers are about to die, so... bring a boom box!!!!! put on a good CD, or hook your ipod up to it !No members have liked this post.

Every year we drive to flordia from detroit with our 2 kids, currently 4 and 5, it's a 22 hour drive if you go non stop no sleep and just potty and food breaks. If your speakers are bad I'd suggest your Ipod or a portable battery operated radio with a cd player snacks and take several breaks. I also suggest take I-77 instead of I-75, not sure exactly wher in Ohio you are but if you have the choice take 77 it's a nice more scenic route. plus it takes you right into Jacksonville which I'm sure you already know.
Good Luck and be safe. No members have liked this post.
