Advanced Warning System 3.6.7
Developer Last Online: Jun 2011
Advaned Warning System
This is a port of aws and i release this with permission...(yes i did ask the original author) This version of the warning includes
This version will also require vbulletin 3.6.x to run.If you run 3.5.x or any other release then 3.6.x you will see a message. This system is tested for a long time and i believe it's stable enough for a public release HOWEVER since this is a major hack and i'm just human please consider this first public run still as "beta" instructions ow howto install can be found in the docs directory within the zip statistics
A problem has been found where no link is provided to view your own warnings(normal users) in the member profile only i fixed this.To get the fix you will need to reedit your "MEMBERINFO" template and reimport product-aws.xml (set allow overwrite to yes) 15-9-2006 I moved the cron jobs from the install/uinstall code to the product file. version check url now uses http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/misc....rsion&t=124477 to upgrade read upgrade.txt in the docs directory 24-9-2006 a product depency whas added the system will no longer install on PHP 5 (in response to continued error reports on that PHP version) to report a possible bug please go the system bugtracker here you can use the folowwing account username:bugreporter password:awsbug no need to register yourself 30-11-2006 People on PHP 5 can follow this instructions to avoid the PHP version related error message BUT remember you are on your own if you do this.I won't upgrade my PHP until PHP 5 is there main stable release (www.php.net) 1-1-2007 A bug has been reported in the system. This bug whas causing vbulletin to throw an error when you try to use admincp => users=> add a new user
Edit plugin "AWS:warn link in usermanager" and replace all code with this
i'll update the package when i get home ![]() Another Bug is fixed This release includes a fix for the problem "call to member function on a non object class_dm_user.php)" when you try to add a new user manaually (after submitting the form) Download Now Only licensed members can download files, Click Here for more information. Great mod but I have a problem with the warnings. They don't seem to mature at all. How would I fix this?
A +5 points warning with the maturity of 5 would have expired after 5 days right? In this case it has not. Currently running vb 3.6.9 No members have liked this post.

any porting to 3.7.0?
I'm still runnig 3.6.8, it works fine, but now the move to 3.7.0 should be a dramatic move. any chance anyone is looking at it and releasing an updated version? -Sup. No members have liked this post.

It works fine in 3.7 Gold for me, although I think there's a problem with it auto-unbanning members. I haven't seen many issues with it, though, if any at all. It works with the new profile pages as well.

Good to know. I may be forced to upgrade my site from 3.0.xx to 3.7 because of the CSRF vulnerability and my moderators would go berserk if they do not have the AWS.

That vulnerability was fixed in 3.6.10, I believe, if you're reluctant to upgrade to 3.7.0.

Would be great if anyone could take-over this modification in the absence of the author and successfully port it into 3.7 and even improve it.

I am reluctant to upgrade to anything. I do not need the extra functionality of newer releases, but I've been paying Jelsoft annual subscription because of one reason only: I wanted to be sure that in case a security issue was found, I would have the necessary fix for my site. I've been paying them all those years, just for that.
When this vulnerability was announced (and the vulnerability was fixed with vB 3.6.10 and vB 3.7) I contacted Jelsoft complaining about the fact that they didn't issue a security fix for 3.0. Guess what? Next day they announced the end of life of vB 3.0. So no more support. As if this was not a security issue but a simple bug fix. That's how Jelsoft treats its customers. In any case, if I decide to upgrade my site to 3.7, I might work on AWS again. I'll need it for my site and over the years since I stopped working on it, I've improved it greatly. Unfortunately, this will take some time, since I need to first familiarize myself with the new coding acrhitecture of vB, as it has been implemented in vB 3.5 and later releases. So folks, please do not hold your breath.

Sorry, not from my side. I still do not have a site with 3.7.x to start working on it.
If someone can provide me access to a test site with the latest release of vB, I could start working on this.

I was looking over this mod as i was thinking of using it and discovered in mysql it creates a table called vb_warningtype and in the file in some spots it tries to use the database vb_warning_types - that may cause some problems you are having

The Warning Types table should be named "warning_types". If it is created with "warningtypes" as a name, the hack will NOT work.
