UPDATE sid's [hide] hack 0.3.5 Hi again, I've tried my best to build a [hide] hack that will fit to to the wonderful POST THANK YOU HACK but for sure you can use it without, then it'll work if user replies to a post with hidden content  You can coose in acp to show hidden content to admins mods or users of a certain usergroup (if you have useradmins or something) too. It will show up some hint that will let your users know what to do (thank, answer, or even nothing) by now with some small text, soon with a set of images BUT

cheers 'sid ps Sorry for updating that fast UPDATE 0.3.0 uninstall previous version before installing the update! So, here's what you've all been waiting for *grin* Tha ajaxified version of my hide hack. BUT, this is rather bruteforcing ajax, so be warned  First: you could fully disable ajax for this script in ACP! Now how it goes, it checks the length of pagecontent every three seconds (usersides, no worries about serverload here), and if it finds some new "content" like a filled thanks-box or a new post it calls all the posts that have hidden content (of this page only of course) and tries to refill the postbits, this causes some sql-queries, almost as much as to totally reload the page itself. AS soon as I find a more elegant method I will update again. Nothing else was changed though since 2.6, only modified in handling the ajax-request. If you encounter any problems with the ajax of this script, just deactivate, no javascript at all then will be loaded from this script, and you'll have a "normal" version in hands. Hi, as you can see, I had much more work than I thought I would..
sorry for letting you wait. Terminatoronly, I have no idea why this could happen. the ajax function uses exactly the same querys the initial showthread-call does. So if you have a db error it has to be there from the beginning and not in the middle of somewhere Please check that with deactivated hide-hack options show to admin, show to mod, show to usergroup and then twice one with option set to hide on reply (only) and again with hide on thank (only) and then let me know which of this two variants will cause the error. (are you sure you have the thank-you-hack installed?) stinger2, well yeah, including the second phraseset to choose wether to show up the images or the text is what I thought of too. You'll find that in the upcoming version But you'll not find the implemented editorbutton That way you can install the hack without uploading anything via ftp, with an editorbutton set as default it's not, because you'll see that ugly missing image thingy if you didn't upload the button itself. I am having a problem
When using the hide tags i get all "hidden" content with this messege "No code has to be inserted here" What should i do? even replaying i cant see the hidden content No members have liked this post.

First I have to say that's nice work and a great hack, thanks!
I'm using this hack with my vB 3.6.4 for maybe 1 or 2 weeks and had no problems with it, but since this morning, nobody is able to see the correct hidden content. You can only see "{param}" as hidden content. I have to edit the thread / post and save it again, to see the correct content. What could be the problem? I'm sorry for my English -.- bigM No members have liked this post.

hi M,
schau mal unter "Eigene vB Codes" ob Du beim Eintrag Titel hide unter "Einzufügender Code" genau das :"[hide]some text[/hide]" stehen siehst auf der Übersichtsseite. Und sag mir mal was Du heute morgen geändert hast am forum (oder server oder einem anderen hack oder oder) 'sid ps sorry for the german post, but this way it's easier for me and BigM, if necessary I'll answer the same question twice No members have liked this post.

And you've refreshed the showthread manually once, to unload the javascript?
then I have absolutely no idea what refreshes the page... maybe another hack (shoutbox itself maybe) that's reloading ALL the page content? 'sid No members have liked this post.

I am having a problem, I added this in a few weeks ago and all was working fine, I have now gone to add a hidden part of a thread and when I do I get this n the hidden part
{param} this also happens when a reply is posted to see the hidden content. Any help is appreciated Thanks. No members have liked this post.
