what are th best ways...ive heard about vbseo...what else a good tips to get traffic?

I am not a big board as of yet, but I own a number of other non forum related sites and I can say this... While all the SEO tips and tricks are lovely and alluring, don't think that they are the end all be all of site popularity. I will simply state my favorite way of ranking number one on the SEs: Focus on content the rest will fall into place afterwards.

My new board (launched 9/8/06) - My first and only board. Is sitting at number 4 for a very competitive keyword phrase in Google. I do not have Zoints, VbSEO or any other commercial SEO product installed. It can be done, it just takes a lot of work on your part.

Like I said, provide relevant content and then start submitting your site to related directories, enhance tags, remove duplicate content, clean up bloated code, etc. Then hit the streets...print up business cards and start marketing.

1. Good Content
2. Good Staff
3. A niche
4. VBSeo
5. a gimmick such as contests or something. Something to get people to come their all the time.

vbSeo is nice..but to get traffic vbseo dont have anything much to do..
im using using vbseo 3rc8.
some time i think vbseo is a fantasy not a need in deed.
there are free products also available at vb.org..what ever url re-writer dont have much to do

5. Set up a system to get your best people some money.
6. Use vbseo
7. Insist on specific, meaningful subject lines with correct spelling...and have your mods watch for lame subject lines like "i need help", "I don't know what to do", the name of the board, etc...and change them when needed.

...just some of the things that come to my mind at the moment...

PS/Edit: Be sure to check at alexa.com for who your competitors are and where you stand in ranking compared to them...and check them all out to see what they are doing - and what you can do to be better than them.
