Need to embed self hosted media - Not Youtube, Google Video...

I need to be able to start embedding video in my posts on http://www.Coursesaver.com. I have the space to host my own files and can encode them to any file format that I need to. Currentlly they are as AVI files. They are around 45 minutes per video and I would like to have 1 copy of reduced quality, and a second of good quality that is subscription based. They are videos helping students get ready for the med school tests. I just upgraded to Vbulletin 4 because of the built in video embedding, but didn't know it was only for big services like youtube.

Would love to be cross compatible with Mac and PC. Also would love to stream the files since they are around 200MB each. I was looking at Flowplayer, but I couldn't get the bbcode quite right...

so when I put the code [flv]http://www.coursesaver.com/Chad/Dat1-1.flv[/flv] in I get an error 200 Stream not found.

Trying the changes on this page: http://www.coursesaver.com/showthrea...=3142#post3142

Did you ever succeed with this project? If so, how?

Thanks!

and it will play a file as large as your server can handle i believe, i stream 1Gb vids and i cant see there being a cutoff in file size if those play.

I know this thread is old but why not convert your video to flv with a good program that creates the flv and swf player for you as well as html. Then just embed the player using BB code. I host all my own videos on my forum. Works perfect in vbblog, PMs, welcome messages, and anywhere else you have access to the editor!

If your interested I will share my BB code and converter program with you:

No converting program on a PC comes close to Sothink Video Encoder!
