Custom Link Checker Bot 1.0 I have decided to code my own link checker bot. This link Checker Checks links from....
To install.... 1. Upload all of the files in the "upload" folder 2. Open the product-dlc.xml in Notepad or Wordpad. 3. Place your forum username in every username="" tag you see. 4. After that you can import the product. 5. Setting up a cron to make it run automatically. Set up the cron here. admincp>scheduled tasks>add new scheduled task Use these variables. Varname: dead_link_checker Title: Dead Link Checker Bot Description: Checks for dead links and adds them to graveyard Log Phrase: dead_link_checker Set how often you want it to run Then Filename: ./includes/cron/dlc.php   Please post comments and feedback here. Thanks. READ THE README File. It has some file edits you have to do to prepare the product. I am working on making it so you don't have to edit the product.

can this be made in such a way that it checks all the posts in a thread ?
For eg. if a thread consists of two posts with links in them, i would like it to check the two posts. If post 1 links have expired, i want it to delete only that post (or move) not the entire thread. is this possible to code? may be an option to check all posts or only the first post would be awesome  eitherways thanks for this. bleros it seems you need to install cURL on your server. If you are on shared hosting contact your provider.
Freekurd did you follow the YOUNEEDTOREADTHIS File? If not please read that. No members have liked this post.

when i run the cron job he display this error message
Dead Link Checker Bot Warnung: include_once([path]/./includes/cron/dlc.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/admincp/cronadmin.php (Zeile 113) Warnung: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening '[path]/./includes/cron/dlc.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear') in [path]/admincp/cronadmin.php (Zeile 113) Done Found the issue. Please change the directory name in lowercase.It Creates an different Cron directory instead inserting it in cron No members have liked this post.
